Every writer that declared no extent (bash, MCP, a sub-agent given no write_paths) held the whole workspace, so two sessions on one project queued behind each other even when nothing they wrote overlapped. [agent] write_lease = "optimistic" in the user file makes such a writer claim nothing; a writer that declared paths, including paths that cannot be resolved, still excludes other sessions. The mode is carried by each session's lease owner, so sessions in one process keep their own, and a project file cannot change it.
