The names WPF's build tasks put into "<AssemblyName>.g.resources" are the items' relative paths, lower-cased and URI-escaped, so a Chinese file name with a space in it reached the tree as a line of percent escapes. Decoding happens where the entry names enter the tree, which is the single place the display name, the save-as file name and the search text all come from, and it is gated on the container name: escaping is a property of the generated containers only, so a percent sign in any other .resources file is part of the entry name and has to survive unchanged. The raw names still go into the ResX export and the project export's LogicalName, where WPF's runtime lookup needs them. Assisted-by: Claude:claude-opus-5:Claude Code
