net: add validation for the socket syscall protocol argument
commit 79462ad02e861803b3840cc782248c7359451cd9 upstream. 郭永刚 reported that one could simply crash the kernel as root by using a simple program: int socket_fd; struct sockaddr_in addr; addr.sin_port = 0; addr.sin_addr.s_addr = INADDR_ANY; addr.sin_family = 10; socket_fd = socket(10,3,0x40000000); connect(socket_fd , &addr,16); AF_INET, AF_INET6 sockets actually only support 8-bit protocol identifiers. inet_sock's skc_protocol field thus is sized accordingly, thus larger protocol identifiers simply cut off the higher bits and store a zero in the protocol fields. This could lead to e.g. NULL function pointer because as a result of the cut off inet_num is zero and we call down to inet_autobind, which is NULL for raw sockets. kernel: Call Trace: kernel: [<ffffffff816db90e>] ? inet_autobind+0x2e/0x70 kernel: [<ffffffff816db9a4>] inet_dgram_connect+0x54/0x80 kernel: [<ffffffff81645069>] SYSC_connect+0xd9/0x110 kernel: [<ffffffff810ac51b>] ? ptrace_notify+0x5b/0x80 kernel: [<ffffffff810236d8>] ? syscall_trace_enter_phase2+0x108/0x200 kernel: [<ffffffff81645e0e>] SyS_connect+0xe/0x10 kernel: [<ffffffff81779515>] tracesys_phase2+0x84/0x89 I found no particular commit which introduced this problem. net: wireless: bcmdhd: support static channel info pointer
When country changed, it will made a new channel list in same buffer. Sometimes different buffer pointer will have same center frequence, which will made two Bss info structures have different channel pointers but the channel's center_freq is the same. So it is better to use static channel pointers and use a flag to control channel valid or not. UPSTREAM: tcp: fix use after free in tcp_xmit_retransmit_queue()
(cherry picked from commit bb1fceca22492109be12640d49f5ea5a544c6bb4)
When tcp_sendmsg() allocates a fresh and empty skb, it puts it at the
tail of the write queue using tcp_add_write_queue_tail()
Then it attempts to copy user data into this fresh skb.
If the copy fails, we undo the work and remove the fresh skb.
Unfortunately, this undo lacks the change done to tp->highest_sack and
we can leave a dangling pointer (to a freed skb)
Later, tcp_xmit_retransmit_queue() can dereference this pointer and
access freed memory. For regular kernels where memory is not unmapped,
this might cause SACK bugs because tcp_highest_sack_seq() is buggy,
returning garbage instead of tp->snd_nxt, but with various debug
features like CONFIG_DEBUG_PAGEALLOC, this can crash the kernel.
This bug was found by Marco Grassi thanks to syzkaller.

ipv6: add complete rcu protection around np->opt.
[ Upstream commit 45f6fad84cc305103b28d73482b344d7f5b76f39 ] This patch addresses multiple problems : UDP/RAW sendmsg() need to get a stable struct ipv6_txoptions while socket is not locked : Other threads can change np->opt concurrently. Dmitry posted a syzkaller (http://github.com/google/syzkaller) program desmonstrating use-after-free. Starting with TCP/DCCP lockless listeners, tcp_v6_syn_recv_sock() and dccp_v6_request_recv_sock() also need to use RCU protection to dereference np->opt once (before calling ipv6_dup_options()) This patch adds full RCU protection to np->opt b/28746669 Reported-by: Dmitry Vyukov <dvyukov@google.com> Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <edumazet@google.com> Acked-by: Hannes Frederic Sowa <hannes@stressinduktion.org> Signed-off-by: David S. unix: avoid use-after-free in ep_remove_wait_queue
Rainer Weikusat <rweikusat@mobileactivedefense.com> writes:
An AF_UNIX datagram socket being the client in an n:1 association with
some server socket is only allowed to send messages to the server if the
receive queue of this socket contains at most sk_max_ack_backlog
datagrams. This implies that prospective writers might be forced to go
to sleep despite none of the message presently enqueued on the server
receive queue were sent by them. In order to ensure that these will be
woken up once space becomes again available, the present unix_dgram_poll
routine does a second sock_poll_wait call with the peer_wait wait queue
of the server socket as queue argument (unix_dgram_recvmsg does a wake
up on this queue after a datagram was received). This is inherently
problematic because the server socket is only guaranteed to remain alive
for as long as the client still holds a reference to it. In case the
connection is dissolved via connect or by the dead peer detection logic
in unix_dgram_sendmsg, the server socket may be freed despite "the
polling mechanism" (in particular, epoll) still has a pointer to the
corresponding peer_wait queue. There's no way to forcibly deregister a
wait queue with epoll.
Based on an idea by Jason Baron, the patch below changes the code such
that a wait_queue_t belonging to the client socket is enqueued on the
peer_wait queue of the server whenever the peer receive queue full
condition is detected by either a sendmsg or a poll. A wake up on the
peer queue is then relayed to the ordinary wait queue of the client
socket via wake function. The connection to the peer wait queue is again
dissolved if either a wake up is about to be relayed or the client
socket reconnects or a dead peer is detected or the client socket is
itself closed. This enables removing the second sock_poll_wait from
unix_dgram_poll, thus avoiding the use-after-free, while still ensuring
that no blocked writer sleeps forever.

cfg80211: Add attributes describing prohibited channel bandwidth
Since there are frequency bands (e.g. 5.9GHz) allowing channels with only 10 or 5 MHz bandwidth, this patch adds attributes that allow keeping track about this information. When channel attributes are reported to user-space, make sure to not break old tools, i.e. if the 'split wiphy dump' is enabled, report the extra attributes (if present) describing the bandwidth restrictions. If the 'split wiphy dump' is not enabled, completely omit those channels that have flags set to either IEEE80211_CHAN_NO_10MHZ or IEEE80211_CHAN_NO_20MHZ. net: Fail explicit bind to local reserved ports
Reserved ports may have some special use cases which are not suitable for use by general userspace applications. Currently, ports specified in ip_local_reserved_ports will not be returned only in case of automatic port assignment. Add a boolean sysctl flag 'reserved_port_bind'. Default value is 1 which preserves the existing behavior. Setting the value to 0 will prevent userspace applications from binding to these ports even when they are explicitly requested. ipv4, fib: pass LOOPBACK_IFINDEX instead of 0 to flowi4_iif
As suggested by Julian: Simply, flowi4_iif must not contain 0, it does not look logical to ignore all ip rules with specified iif. because in fib_rule_match() we do: if (rule->iifindex && (rule->iifindex != fl->flowi_iif)) goto out; flowi4_iif should be LOOPBACK_IFINDEX by default. We need to move LOOPBACK_IFINDEX to include/net/flow.h: 1) It is mostly used by flowi_iif 2) Fix the following compile error if we use it in flow.h by the patches latter: In file included from include/linux/netfilter.h:277:0, from include/net/netns/netfilter.h:5, from include/net/net_namespace.h:21, from include/linux/netdevice.h:43, from include/linux/icmpv6.h:12, from include/linux/ipv6.h:61, from include/net/ipv6.h:16, from include/linux/sunrpc/clnt.h:27, from include/linux/nfs_fs.h:30, from init/do_mounts.c:32: include/net/flow.h: In function ‘flowi4_init_output’: include/net/flow.h:84:32: error: ‘LOOPBACK_IFINDEX’ undeclared (first use in this function) [Backport of net-next 6a662719c9868b3d6c7d26b3a085f0cd3cc15e64] Change-Id: Ib7a0a08d78c03800488afa1b2c170cb70e34cfd9 Cc: Eric Biederman <ebiederm@xmission.com> Cc: Julian Anastasov <ja@ssi.bg> Cc: David S. ipv6: clean up anycast when an interface is destroyed
If we try to rmmod the driver for an interface while sockets with setsockopt(JOIN_ANYCAST) are alive, some refcounts aren't cleaned up and we get stuck on: unregister_netdevice: waiting for ens3 to become free. Usage count = 1 If we LEAVE_ANYCAST/close everything before rmmod'ing, there is no problem. We need to perform a cleanup similar to the one for multicast in addrconf_ifdown(how == 1). cfg80211: Add indoor only and GO concurrent channel attributes
The FCC are clarifying some soft configuration requirements, which among other include the following: 1. Indoor operation, where a device can use channels requiring indoor operation, subject to that it can guarantee indoor operation, i.e., the device is connected to AC Power or the device is under the control of a local master that is acting as an AP and is connected to AC Power. 2. Concurrent GO operation, where devices may instantiate a P2P GO while they are under the guidance of an authorized master. For example, on a channel on which a BSS is connected to an authorized master, i.e., with DFS and radar detection capability in the UNII band. See https://apps.fcc.gov/eas/comments/GetPublishedDocument.html?id=327&tn=528122 Add support for advertising Indoor-only and GO-Concurrent channel properties. ipv6: prevent fib6_run_gc() contention
commit 2ac3ac8f86f2fe065d746d9a9abaca867adec577 upstream. On a high-traffic router with many processors and many IPv6 dst entries, soft lockup in fib6_run_gc() can occur when number of entries reaches gc_thresh. This happens because fib6_run_gc() uses fib6_gc_lock to allow only one thread to run the garbage collector but ip6_dst_gc() doesn't update net->ipv6.ip6_rt_last_gc until fib6_run_gc() returns. On a system with many entries, this can take some time so that in the meantime, other threads pass the tests in ip6_dst_gc() (ip6_rt_last_gc is still not updated) and wait for the lock. They then have to run the garbage collector one after another which blocks them for quite long. Resolve this by replacing special value ~0UL of expire parameter to fib6_run_gc() by explicit "force" parameter to choose between spin_lock_bh() and spin_trylock_bh() and call fib6_run_gc() with force=false if gc_thresh is reached but not max_size. ipv4: try to cache dst_entries which would cause a redirect
[ Upstream commit df4d92549f23e1c037e83323aff58a21b3de7fe0 ] Not caching dst_entries which cause redirects could be exploited by hosts on the same subnet, causing a severe DoS attack. This effect aggravated since commit f88649721268999 ("ipv4: fix dst race in sk_dst_get()"). Lookups causing redirects will be allocated with DST_NOCACHE set which will force dst_release to free them via RCU. Unfortunately waiting for RCU grace period just takes too long, we can end up with >1M dst_entries waiting to be released and the system will run OOM. rcuos threads cannot catch up under high softirq load. Attaching the flag to emit a redirect later on to the specific skb allows us to cache those dst_entries thus reducing the pressure on allocation and deallocation. net: tcp: Scale the TCP backlog queue to absorb packet bursts
A large momentary influx of packets flooding the TCP layer may cause packets to get dropped at the socket's backlog queue. Bump this up to prevent these drops. Note that this change may cause the socket memory accounting to allow the total backlog queue length to exceed the user space configured values, sometimes by a substantial amount, which can lead to out of order packets to be dropped instead of being queued. To avoid these ofo drops, the condition to drop an out of order packet is modified to allow out of order queuing to continue as long as it falls within the now increased backlog queue limit.
