Problem:

  • Gemini 3 and 2.5 thinking models require thought_signature for function calls
  • Previous fix (PR #2387) stored signatures in instance variables which don't persist across requests
  • This caused "400 Missing thought_signature" errors in multi-turn function calling

Solution:

  • Encode thought_signature into ToolCall.id field (base64) which Dify preserves across requests
  • Decode signature when formatting messages for subsequent API calls
  • Fallback to official bypass signature if no encoded signature found

The encoding format: "{function_name}::sig::{base64_signature}"
