Hello @mrhan1993! I'm Dosu, a bot here to assist you with bug fixes, answer your questions, and help you on your journey to becoming a contributor. I'm ready to help while we wait for a human maintainer to join the conversation!

I found some similar discussions regarding client-side exceptions in Dify:

  1. Application error: a client-side exception has occurred (see the browser console for more information) - This discussion is still open and might provide insights into similar issues [1].

  2. Application error: a client-side exception has occurred (see the browser console for more information) - This is another open discussion that might be relevant [2].

  3. When entering the editing agent or app page, an error occurs: "Application error: a client-side exception has occurred (see the browser console for more information)" - This discussion is also open and could be related to your issue [3].

For your specific issue, it seems related to the 'x button' functionality in the workflow editor. Unfortunately, I couldn't find specific documentation on known issues related to the 'x button' functionality. However, common causes of client-side exceptions in Dify's workflow editor include issues like code node errors, sandbox network issues, and output validation errors, among others [4].

You might want to check the browser console for more detailed error messages, which could help in diagnosing the problem further.

@dosu It is indeed the same problem. What I mainly provide is a reproduction method. In addition, although the error message indicates that it comes from the browser. But in fact, it has nothing to do with the browser. The problem comes from the variable assignment node.

To address the issue with the variable assignment node causing a client-side exception, you can try the following solutions:

  1. Upgrade Dify: Ensure you are using Dify version 1.2.0 or later, as previous versions had known issues with variable assignment nodes that have been resolved in later updates [1].

  2. Recreate the Workflow: If upgrading doesn't resolve the issue, try recreating the workflow. This approach has been reported to sometimes fix similar issues [1].

These steps should help mitigate the problem with the variable assignment node.
