You can modify the chunks variable in the final output by using workflow nodes like the Variable Assigner node or a code/script node to process or overwrite the variable before it reaches the knowledge base node. The backend expects the value to match the chunk structure model (for example, ParentChildStructureChunk or GeneralStructureChunk), but you have flexibility in how you generate or transform this variable in your workflow. You can also adjust chunking parameters—such as chunk size, overlap, and delimiters—in the UI or via environment variables, but the output variable name itself is not directly configurable through settings; it’s set by how you assign and pass variables between nodes in your workflow. For advanced customization, you may need to extend or modify backend processor classes to change how chunks are structured or outputted see code reference.
