Currently, in Dify (including version 1.9.0 and 1.9.1), metadata filtering only allows you to select variables of type String—paragraph types and other non-string variable types are not supported for selection in metadata filtering. This restriction is enforced both in the backend logic and the UI, and there are no built-in workarounds or extension points for paragraph types at this time. Supporting additional types (like select or paragraph) would require changes to the type validation and UI components. For more details, see this issue and this related discussion.
