Pipeline workflow outputs in Dify are only stored in the knowledge base if your workflow explicitly includes a node that handles indexing, like the KnowledgeIndexNode. Nodes such as DatasourceNode and KnowledgeRetrievalNode only output or retrieve data—they do not persist anything to the knowledge base by default. This separation is intentional and designed to prevent unintended data writes; there is no automatic mechanism that stores generic pipeline outputs in the knowledge base unless you configure it that way in your workflow. If you want outputs to be stored, make sure your pipeline includes and correctly configures a storage/indexing node like KnowledgeIndexNode with the necessary dataset and document IDs in the variable pool. You can see this logic in the code for the KnowledgeIndexNode.
