In Dify v1.9.2 (self-hosted), you cannot directly call the workflow knowledge base pipeline via a single API request. The official API supports initializing knowledge bases and running pipelines for standard (non-workflow) knowledge bases, but workflow-integrated knowledge bases are managed differently and do not expose the same API endpoints for pipeline execution. There is no unified API call that both uploads a file and triggers the full pipeline for workflow knowledge bases—API automation requires multiple steps and may not fully replicate UI behavior, especially for custom pipeline steps. This is a known limitation and is not a bug, but rather a current design constraint of the platform. For now, the most reliable way to trigger workflow knowledge base pipelines is still through the Web UI, not via API requests reference.
