Steps to reproduce

Image when I want create Knowledge base by "Complex PDF with Images & Tables"，but I can't find it. Only five templates in the web. Please help me to fix the problem, Thx.

The "Complex PDF with Images & Tables" template is present in the Dify 2.0.0-beta2 backend configuration (source), but it does not appear in the UI for self-hosted users. This template is designed to extract images and tables from complex PDFs using the MinerU plugin and other marketplace plugins.

The most likely reasons for it not showing up are:

  • The UI only displays a subset of templates, possibly due to feature flags, plugin availability, or filtering logic (source).
  • There may be a dependency on the MinerU plugin or marketplace features being enabled in your deployment. If the required plugins are not installed or enabled, the template might be hidden.
  • There is a known issue with MinerU 0.5.x where image extraction from PDFs does not work as expected, which could also affect template visibility or functionality (source).

Workarounds:

  • You can manually import a pipeline DSL file for complex PDF processing if you have access to the template's DSL.
  • For best results with complex PDFs, ensure the MinerU plugin is installed and enabled in your environment. If you process PDFs via the API, MinerU is not used by default; only uploads through the Web UI trigger the full pipeline (source).
  • If you need advanced PDF extraction now, consider using MinerU or another OCR tool externally, then upload the extracted text to Dify.

If you want to troubleshoot further, check your system's plugin marketplace settings and confirm that all required plugins (especially MinerU) are available and enabled. If the issue persists, it may be a UI filtering bug or a deployment-specific configuration problem.
