Description

Create a graph-layer conversation variable persistence handler to centralize updates from Variable Assigner nodes, keeping persistence concerns out of node execution.

Motivation

Keeping persistence logic in a dedicated layer improves separation of concerns and simplifies node responsibilities.

Additional Context

None.

@laipz8200 commented on GitHub (Jan 5, 2026):

I’m planning to add a new persistence layer for conversation variables. This layer will apply only to advanced chat (chatflow). It listens for successful events from the Variable Assigner, retrieves the updated variables from node outputs, and then persists them to the database.
