1. Is this request related to a challenge you're experiencing?

I want to continuously build my knowledge base, and that your Knowledge Base API docs, dont provide the schema for me to use to create a custom tool

2. Describe the feature you'd like to see

As a Self Hosted Dify User, I would like a Built-In Tool that allows me add information to a user selected knowledge base so that I can continually build that knowledge base.

AC

  • Built in tool that can be added to a workflow allowing a user to select which knowledge base to add to
  • The uploaded documents are then processed and added to that knowledge base
  • Each workflow run has it's own threaded knowledgebase
  • Uploaded documents are assigned a variable in the workflow within the threaded knowledge base
  • "Advance Upload" Feature on a basic chatbot that allows me to select which knowledge base to add to
  • Uploaded documents after added to knowledge can be used as context in a basic chatbot

3. How will this feature improve your workflow or experience?

This will allow me to continuously build my knowledgebase as part of day to day use of the tools I create in Dify.

4. Additional context or comments

You allow me to use an API call to maintain knowledge, why doesnt this exist as a Built In Tool and I have to figure out how to create it as a custom tool
