Is it possible for the /meta endpoint to include additional application information, such as the ID, name, and description?

Currently, according to the documentation, it only responds with icons, but it would be necessary for it to provide at least the name and description information.

This sounds good to me. I took a close look at this endpoint, it turns out to fetch the tools information instead of the application itself.
You need to use /info instead.
