Description:
Currently, Dify does not provide a way to edit sent messages, unlike ChatGPT. This feature is useful for correcting typos, rephrasing questions, or refining prompts without needing to resend a new message.

Expected Behavior

  • Users should be able to edit their last message.
  • Upon editing, the response should be regenerated based on the new message.
  • The chat history should reflect the updated message instead of creating a new entry.

Why This is Important

  • Enhances usability by reducing the need for redundant messages.
  • Helps users refine their prompts dynamically.
  • Improves the overall user experience, similar to how ChatGPT handles message edits.

Additional Context

Many AI chat interfaces, including OpenAI's ChatGPT, allow users to edit their previous messages. Implementing a similar feature in Dify would make it more user-friendly and efficient.

2. Additional context or comments

No response

3. Can you help us with this feature?

  • I am interested in contributing to this feature.

I am very concerned about this feature! It really helps, especially having code (``` in markdown) in the prompts, because it can't be copied directly.
