1. Is this request related to a challenge you're experiencing? Tell me about your story.

When uploading PDFs and Excel files to the knowledge base, the chunking process does not work well, resulting in poor recall performance. Why not use LlamaIndex to process PDFs and Excel files, making the knowledge base more efficient and user-friendly?

2. Additional context or comments

No response

3. Can you help us with this feature?

  • I am interested in contributing to this feature.

It's an interesting thought! I think allowing users to choose the splitter they want to use is better.

Hi, @Zwxxxxxxx. I'm Dosu, and I'm helping the Dify team manage their backlog. I'm marking this issue as stale.

Issue Summary:

  • You are experiencing issues with the chunking process during PDF and Excel file uploads, impacting recall performance.
  • You proposed using LlamaIndex to improve file processing and expressed interest in contributing to this feature.
  • Another user, Laipz8200, suggested allowing users to select their preferred splitter, which you reacted to positively.

Next Steps:

  • Could you please confirm if this issue is still relevant to the latest version of the Dify repository? If so, feel free to comment to keep the discussion open.
  • If there are no further updates, this issue will be automatically closed in 15 days.

Thank you for your understanding and contribution!
