2c47d571aa Use path_is_valid instead of filestream_exists when we only
need to know if a file exists on the filesystem

3e72c502a8 strlen optimizations :
- use STRLEN_CONST for constant strings, translates to sizeof
which should be computed at compile-time
- found some places where we are needlessly calling strlen two
times instead of just once
