supported_extensions gained chd. The core has read CHD images since libchdr was vendored into it - ResolveGameFile decompresses the disc and hands the result to the same ISO9660 reader a plain .iso takes - but neither this file nor the core's own list said so, so the frontend filtered the files out. The core side is andkrau/NuanceResurrection#78. Two things in here had gone stale with it: required_hw_api said desktop GL only. The core asks for RETRO_HW_CONTEXT_OPENGLES3 on Android, iOS and tvOS - ES 3 rather than 2 because its video buffers are declared GL_RGBA8/GL_RG8, and ES 2 has no sized internal formats. The description said x86_64-only. The asmjit JIT still is, but everything else builds and runs elsewhere now - the other architectures take the interpreter - so the sentence is narrowed to the JIT rather than the core, and CHD is named among the ways a game is loaded.

description = "Nuance is a NUON (VM Labs) emulator. NUON was a media-processing architecture embedded in a handful of DVD players (Samsung DVD-N501/N2000, Toshiba SD-2300, RCA DRC-480N) and used to ship a small number of games (Ballistic, Tempest 3000, Merlin Racing, Iron Soldier 3, Freefall 3050 A.D., Space Invaders XL, etc.) on standard DVD discs. The Linux/libretro port adds an OpenGL render path, miniaudio output, FUSE/ISO9660 disc reading, and an asmjit-based 64-bit JIT (x86_64; other architectures run the interpreter) on top of the original Windows codebase. Considered experimental. Games are loaded from raw ISO/BIN/CUE disc images, from CHD, or from individual .run/.cof program files dumped out of the disc filesystem."
