The core requests a Vulkan context through SET_HW_RENDER and negotiates the device with the frontend; the info file still described the state before that port, where every frame was handed over through video_cb. Frontends key behaviour off this - RetroArch needs video_gpu_screenshot to capture a hardware-rendered core, for one - so it is worth being right. The description said so in prose as well, and the note about Linux x86_64 being the only target has been overtaken by the aarch64 and Windows nightlies.

description = "A libretro port of current upstream PCSX2, the mature and highly-compatible PlayStation 2 emulator. Unlike the LRPS2 core, which is a hard fork of an older PCSX2, PCEE2 tracks the modern PCSX2 codebase. With the default Vulkan renderer the core renders into a hardware context it negotiates with the frontend; the OpenGL and software renderers hand finished frames over instead. Place a PS2 BIOS dump in 'system/pcsx2/bios' and a copy of the PCSX2 'resources' directory in 'system/pcsx2/resources'. This core is experimental."
