Closed#2417 in favour of this PR which also includes @relango s
commits.
This PR updates for full support for ADR 008
(https://github.com/microsoft/semantic-kernel/blob/main/docs/decisions/0008-support-generic-llm-request-settings.md),
which is the ADR in this area.
This PR does the following:
- Updates the code to support ADR 008.
- Apply code formatting needed on these
- If you dont want do do this PR via your branch I can PR it directly
and close this PR.
Now you can add serviceId and model to invocation, i.e:
``
Mono<SKContext> result = function.invokeAsync("time travel to dinosaur
age",
SKBuilders
.completionRequestSettings()
.serviceId("text-davinci-003")
.build());
``
function config, i.e:
```
var function = kernel.
getSemanticFunctionBuilder()
.withPromptTemplate("tell a joke about {{$input}}")
.withRequestSettings(
SKBuilders.completionRequestSettings()
.temperature(0.4)
.topP(1)
.maxTokens(100)
.serviceId("text-davinci-003")
.build())
.build();
```
Or config file
```
"schema": 1,
"description": "Sample plugin with a model and service id",
"type": "completion",
"completion": {
"max_tokens": 150,
"temperature": 0.9,
### Motivation and Context
When writing external APIs that enhance the configuration, we need to
have access to the settings. This PR turns all the constant settings to
public.
AbstractOpenAIClientSettings.KEY_SUFFIX and
OpenAISettings.OPEN_AI_ORGANIZATION_SUFFIX are already public, but the
other settings are private, which makes it impossible to be used by
external APIs.
### Description
External APIs need to have access to all the constant settings to
enhance connection.
This is to resolve#2855 -- when using the java `SequentialPlanner`, the
planner will return a plan with missing skills. This enables a
configuration setting to allow/disallow the missing functions.
### Description
<!-- Describe your changes, the overall approach, the underlying design.
These notes will help understanding how your code works. Thanks! -->
This PR adds
* The configuration setting to allow/disallow missing functions. I set
the default to false (throw on a missing function), technically a
breaking change from what was previously implemented. Given this branch
is still prerelease, I decided that's the better default configuration,
and the breaking change should be okay.
* The logic in the plan parser; to throw when
`allowMissingFunctions=true` and the plan has a missing function.
* Unit tests for the SequentialPlanner that bring its tests to parity
with the other Planner unit tests and test the desired behavior for this
setting when it is on or off.
Where it makes sense, align Java with
https://github.com/microsoft/semantic-kernel/blob/main/docs/decisions/0004-error-handling.md
### Description
<!-- Describe your changes, the overall approach, the underlying design.
For the most part, Java is in compliance with the decision record. This
PR tries to make SKException and its inheritors consistent with each
other in that each exception has a ErrorCodes enum and an ErrorCodes
member with a getter, that the enums use upper case with underscore, and
that the formatting of the error message is consistent. This also tries
to address "Unnecessary and verbose exceptions", but there was not much
to be gained there.
