The leak guard's term lists now come from an optional local rules file instead of a file tracked in the repository. Set `OPENRIG_LEAK_GUARD_RULES` (or pass `--rules`) to an absolute path, and every reader uses it through one loader: the leak guard, `build-package.sh`, the context packs, the skill mirror and the control-plane generator. The publishing rules, the frontmatter keys and the internal-section fence stay in the repository unchanged, so mirrored skills are the same.
Without the file, a contributor's `npm run build:package` still works and prints that the term checks were skipped. The release substance gate refuses to run without a rules file, so a release can't pass with the checks silently off. The tracked rules file is removed, and the tests write their own fixture rules.

The contributor docs now describe the skill workflow #1396 introduced: edit a shipped skill's one in-repo home, run `npm run mirror-skills` to regenerate its other copies and refresh the digests, then run `npm run mirror-skills:check` and commit the result.
- `CONTRIBUTING.md` no longer tells contributors to edit every copy, or says the full apply needs maintainer-only inputs.
- `docs/as-built/test-layers.md` describes what `--check` covers: skill homes, generated copies, layout and digests, including publishability and home/copy consistency.
- `ARCHITECTURE.md`'s "Generated files" sentence names `npm run mirror-skills` as the way the skill-edge digests are refreshed, matching its "A shipped skill" recipe; the digest-only step is gone.
No scripts, skill content, generated files or policy inputs change.
Product skills now regenerate from one editable home inside this repository, so a skill fix is made once and the apply can't replace reviewed text with an outside copy.
- Each skill has one home: its spec copy when it has a spec edge, otherwise its plugin copy. `scripts/skill-edge-layout.generated.json` still lists which copies each skill has, and every other copy is generated from the home.
- The apply reads nothing outside the repository. `OPENRIG_SKILL_CANON_ROOT` is no longer needed; when it's set, the script says it's ignored.
- The apply can't erase a home. Every read and write is planned and every home is staged before any output is replaced, an output that overlaps a home is refused, and a home is never written. On an edge that holds homes, an undeclared skill is left in place and listed.
- The sanitization and leak rules now check the home. Generated copies stay byte-identical to it, and each generated file takes its home's mode.
- `--check` compares every generated copy with its home and reports `copy-diverged`, `copy-missing` or `copy-extra`, even after the digests are refreshed.
- `skills/README.md` and `ARCHITECTURE.md` describe the in-repo source.
One content change: `metadata.openrig.transfer_test: pending` is removed from `openrig-software-factory/SKILL.md` (its spec home and `_canonical` copy, with both digests updated). The sanitizer already strips that key from public copies, and nothing in the product reads it.
Directory modes aren't restored from homes; only file modes are.
The substance scanner can exempt an exact reviewed line (allowed_context_lines), so the compaction path's template line in the shipped restore skills is no longer a false finding.
ARCHITECTURE, DESIGN and two package READMEs re-verified against main for 0.6.6. Text only.
- ARCHITECTURE.md: counts at c750304f (94 migrations through 095, 87 commands, 21 daemon exports, 15 scenarios, six runtime adapters with OMP extending Pi), middleware order, the four CI scenario cases, and current pointers.
- docs/DESIGN.md: the web UI is in maintenance mode; the dark token set and the three themes (default system); Pi and Oh My Pi marks.
- packages/tui/README.md: eight sections, one runtime dependency (yaml), rig tui and --shared, rig terminal open takes a view, nine tab names, the socket commands query.
- packages/test-system/README.md: fifteen scenarios, the transcript and capture cases run in CI healthy only, folder layout, and the four later scenarios carry planted negatives instead of seed steps.
run-scenarios.mjs builds the scaffold environment from HOME, PATH and TERM
only, so an ambient TMUX and daemon variables are dropped and running from
inside tmux is safe. ARCHITECTURE.md and the runner's header said it refuses
to start inside tmux.

* docs: add contributor maps and a developing-openrig skill
Add ARCHITECTURE.md (packages, request path, counts with the commands that
produce them, where to add a command, route, migration, adapter, skill,
context pack or scenario), docs/as-built/arteries.md (high-impact areas,
their dependents and past regressions) and docs/as-built/test-layers.md
(what to run before a pull request and what each layer proves).
Add a repo-local developing-openrig skill for Claude Code (.claude/skills)
and Codex (.agents/skills) that routes to these maps, with narrow .gitignore
exceptions so only that skill is tracked. Point CONTRIBUTING.md at the maps
and correct its skill-mirror instructions. Replace the private-host paragraph
in the shipped openrig-skills router with a pointer to the repository skill.
* docs: correct six factual points from review
Newest as-built markers; skills may have one or several copies; the host
scenario runner drops rather than refuses TMUX and daemon variables;
scenario-10 declares its own normaliser; the managed Claude launch applies
only with an explicit permission mode; Dockerfile.scenarios is layered by
run-pr-scenarios.sh. Also tighten several wordings the review flagged.
