Commit e645016abc80 ("KEYS: fix writing past end of user-supplied buffer in keyring_read()") made keyring_read() stop corrupting userspace memory when the user-supplied buffer is too small. However it also made the return value in that case be the short buffer size rather than the size required, yet keyctl_read() is actually documented to return the size required. Therefore, switch it over to the documented behavior. Note that for now we continue to have it fill the short buffer, since it did that before (pre-v3.13) and dump_key_tree_aux() in keyutils arguably relies on it. Linux kernel ============ This file was moved to Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst Please notice that there are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
