Passing stepwise=True to the run() causes a lot of issues with complex workflows and we don't have a path forward. Since the feature is barely used, it's better to remove it from future versions until we come up with a reliable solution.

Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
