c379bd7551 hw/i386/xen/xen-hvm: Inline xen_piix_pci_write_config_client() and remove it
xen_piix_pci_write_config_client() is implemented in the xen sub tree and
uses PIIX constants internally, thus creating a direct dependency on
PIIX. Now that xen_set_pci_link_route() is stubbable, the logic of
xen_piix_pci_write_config_client() can be moved to PIIX which resolves
the dependency.

21d87050af hw/i386/xen/xen-hvm: Allow for stubbing xen_set_pci_link_route()
The only user of xen_set_pci_link_route() is
xen_piix_pci_write_config_client() which implements PIIX-specific logic in
the xen namespace. This makes xen-hvm depend on PIIX which could be
avoided if xen_piix_pci_write_config_client() was implemented in PIIX. In
order to do this, xen_set_pci_link_route() needs to be stubbable which
this patch addresses.

71e3d00482 msi: fix MSI vector limit check in msi_set_mask()
MSI supports a maximum of PCI_MSI_VECTORS_MAX vectors - from 0 to
PCI_MSI_VECTORS_MAX - 1.

msi_set_mask() was previously using PCI_MSI_VECTORS_MAX as the upper
limit for MSI vectors. Fix the upper limit to PCI_MSI_VECTORS_MAX - 1.

45461aace8 virtio-iommu: Fix the partial copy of probe request
The structure of probe request doesn't include the tail, this leads
to a few field missed to be copied. Currently this isn't an issue as
those missed field belong to reserved field, just in case reserved
field will be used in the future.

Changed 4th parameter of virtio_iommu_iov_to_req() to receive size
of device-readable part.

7227de94ad ps2: remove update_irq() function and update_arg parameter
Now that all the PS2 devices have been converted to use GPIOs the update_irq()
callback function and the update_arg parameter can be removed.

This allows these arguments to be completely removed from ps2_kbd_init() and
ps2_mouse_init(), along with the transitional logic that was added to
ps2_raise_irq() and ps2_lower_irq().

accidental attempt to use the legacy update_irq() function will cause a NULL
pointer dereference.

0d1ac496a2 lasips2: switch over from update_irq() function to PS2 device gpio
Add a qdev gpio input in lasips2_init() by taking the existing lasips2_port_set_irq()
function, updating it accordingly and then renaming to lasips2_set_irq(). Use these
new qdev gpio inputs to wire up the PS2 keyboard and mouse devices.

At the same time set update_irq() and update_arg to NULL in ps2_kbd_init() and
ps2_mouse_init() to ensure that any accidental attempt to use the legacy update_irq()
function will cause a NULL pointer dereference.

02bb59a0e0 lasips2: move initialisation of PS2 ports from lasi_initfn() to lasi_init()
This can be improved once the ps2_kbd_init() and ps2_mouse_init() functions have
been removed, but for now move the existing logic from lasi_initfn() to

5cbf35d20f lasips2: rename lasips2_init() to lasips2_initfn() and update it to return the LASIPS2 device
When QOMifying a device it is typical to use _init() as the suffix for an
instance_init function, however this name is already in use by the legacy LASIPS2
wrapper function. Eventually the wrapper function will be removed, but for now
rename it to lasips2_initfn() to avoid a naming collision.

At the same time update lasips2_initfn() return the LASIPS2 device so that it
can later be accessed using qdev APIs by the HPPA machine.

Add a new pl050_init() function which initialises a qdev input gpio for handling
incoming PS2 IRQs, and then wire up the PS2 device to use it. At the same time
set update_irq() and update_arg to NULL in ps2_kbd_init() and ps2_mouse_init()
to ensure that any accidental attempt to use the legacy update_irq() function will
cause a NULL pointer dereference.

6beb79e11a ps2: add gpio for output IRQ and optionally use it in ps2_raise_irq() and ps2_lower_irq()
Define the gpio for the PS2 output IRQ in ps2_init() and add logic to optionally
use it in ps2_raise_irq() and ps2_lower_irq() if the gpio is connected. If the
gpio is not connected then call the legacy update_irq() function as before.

This allows the incremental conversion of devices from the legacy update_irq()
function to use gpios instead.

1ab5096b3a block: get rid of blk->guest_block_size
Commit 1b7fd72955 ("block: rename buffer_alignment to
guest_block_size") noted:

  At this point, the field is set by the device emulation, but completely
  ignored by the block layer.

The last time the value of buffer_alignment/guest_block_size was
actually used was before commit 339064d506 ("block: Don't use guest
sector size for qemu_blockalign()").

This value has not been used since 2013. Get rid of it.

cc9bcee265 hw/nvme: clean up CC register write logic
The SRIOV series exposed an issued with how CC register writes are
handled and how CSTS is set in response to that. Specifically, after
applying the SRIOV series, the controller could end up in a state with
CC.EN set to '1' but with CSTS.RDY cleared to '0', causing drivers to
expect CSTS.RDY to transition to '1' but timing out.

Clean this up.

PCI device capable of SR-IOV support is a new, still-experimental
feature with only a single working example of the Nvme device.

This patch in an attempt to fix a double-free problem when a
SR-IOV-capable Nvme device is hot-unplugged in the following scenario:

Explanation of the problem and the proposed solution:

1) The current SR-IOV implementation assumes it’s the PhysicalFunction
   that creates and deletes VirtualFunctions.
2) It’s a design decision (the Nvme device at least) for the VFs to be
   of the same class as PF. Effectively, they share the dc->hotpluggable
   value.
3) When a VF is created, it’s added as a child node to PF’s PCI bus
   slot.
4) Monitor/device_del triggers the ACPI mechanism. The implementation is
   not aware of SR/IOV and ejects PF’s PCI slot, directly unrealizing all
   hot-pluggable (!acpi_pcihp_pc_no_hotplug) children nodes.
5) VFs are unrealized directly, and it doesn’t work well with (1).
   SR/IOV structures are not updated, so when it’s PF’s turn to be
   unrealized, it works on stale pointers to already-deleted VFs.

The proposed fix is to make the PCI ACPI code aware of SR/IOV.

b7698b917a hw/nvme: Update the initalization place for the AER queue
This patch updates the initialization place for the AER queue, so it’s
initialized once, at controller initialization, and not every time
controller is enabled.

While the original version works for a non-SR-IOV device, as it’s hard
to interact with the controller if it’s not enabled, the multiple
reinitialization is not necessarily correct.

With the SR/IOV feature enabled a segfault can happen: a VF can have its
controller disabled, while a namespace can still be attached to the
controller through the parent PF. An event generated in such case ends
up on an uninitialized queue.

While it’s an interesting question whether a VF should support AER in
the first place, I don’t think it must be answered today.

746d42b133 hw/nvme: Initialize capability structures for primary/secondary controllers
With four new properties:
 - sriov_v{i,q}_flexible,
 - sriov_max_v{i,q}_per_vf,
one can configure the number of available flexible resources, as well as
the limits. The primary and secondary controller capability structures
are initialized accordingly.

Since the number of available queues (interrupts) now varies between
VF/PF, BAR size calculation is also adjusted.

3bfcc51737 hw/nvme: Remove reg_size variable and update BAR0 size calculation
The n->reg_size parameter unnecessarily splits the BAR0 size calculation
in two phases; removed to simplify the code.

With all the calculations done in one place, it seems the pow2ceil,
applied originally to reg_size, is unnecessary. The rounding should
happen as the last step, when BAR size includes Nvme registers, queue
registers, and MSIX-related space.

Finally, the size of the mmio memory region is extended to cover the 1st
4KiB padding (see the map below). Access to this range is handled as
interaction with a non-existing queue and generates an error trace, so
actually nothing changes, while the reg_size variable is no longer needed.

decc02614f hw/nvme: Make max_ioqpairs and msix_qsize configurable in runtime
The NVMe device defines two properties: max_ioqpairs, msix_qsize. Having
them as constants is problematic for SR-IOV support.

SR-IOV introduces virtual resources (queues, interrupts) that can be
assigned to PF and its dependent VFs. Each device, following a reset,
should work with the configured number of queues. A single constant is
no longer sufficient to hold the whole state.

This patch tries to solve the problem by introducing additional
variables in NvmeCtrl’s state. The variables for, e.g., managing queues
are therefore organized as:
 - n->params.max_ioqpairs – no changes, constant set by the user
 - n->(mutable_state) – (not a part of this patch) user-configurable,
                        specifies number of queues available _after_
                        reset
 - n->conf_ioqpairs - (new) used in all the places instead of the ‘old’
                      n->params.max_ioqpairs; initialized in realize()
                      and updated during reset() to reflect user’s
                      changes to the mutable state

Since the number of available i/o queues and interrupts can change in
runtime, buffers for sq/cqs and the MSIX-related structures are
allocated big enough to handle the limits, to completely avoid the
complicated reallocation. A helper function (nvme_update_msixcap_ts)
updates the corresponding capability register, to signal configuration
changes.

1e9c685ec7 hw/nvme: Implement the Function Level Reset
This patch implements the Function Level Reset, a feature currently not
implemented for the Nvme device, while listed as a mandatory ("shall")
in the 1.4 spec.

The implementation reuses FLR-related building blocks defined for the
pci-bridge module, and follows the same logic:
    - FLR capability is advertised in the PCIE config,
    - custom pci_write_config callback detects a write to the trigger
      register and performs the PCI reset,
    - which, eventually, calls the custom dc->reset handler.

Depending on reset type, parts of the state should (or should not) be
cleared. To distinguish the type of reset, an additional parameter is
passed to the reset function.

This patch also enables advertisement of the Power Management PCI
capability. The main reason behind it is to announce the no_soft_reset=1
bit, to signal SR-IOV support where each VF can be reset individually.

The implementation purposedly ignores writes to the PMCS.PS register,
as even such naïve behavior is enough to correctly handle the D3->D0
transition.

It’s worth to note, that the power state transition back to to D3, with
all the corresponding side effects, wasn't and stil isn't handled
properly.

Introduce handling for Secondary Controller List (Identify command with
CNS value of 15h).

Secondary controller ids are unique in the subsystem, hence they are
reserved by it upon initialization of the primary controller to the
number of sriov_max_vfs.

ID reservation requires the addition of an intermediate controller slot
state, so the reserved controller has the address 0xFFFF.
A secondary controller is in the reserved state when it has no virtual
function assigned, but its primary controller is realized.
Secondary controller reservations are released to NULL when its primary
controller is unregistered.

44c2c09488 hw/nvme: Add support for SR-IOV
This patch implements initial support for Single Root I/O Virtualization
on an NVMe device.

Essentially, it allows to define the maximum number of virtual functions
supported by the NVMe controller via sriov_max_vfs parameter.

Passing a non-zero value to sriov_max_vfs triggers reporting of SR-IOV
capability by a physical controller and ARI capability by both the
physical and virtual function devices.

NVMe controllers created via virtual functions mirror functionally
the physical controller, which may not entirely be the case, thus
consideration would be needed on the way to limit the capabilities of
the VF.

NVMe subsystem is required for the use of SR-IOV.

additional device addresses on ast2[56]xx") from Zeiv. This can be
addressed later.

ba2cccd64e aspeed: i2c: Add new mode support
On AST2600, I2C has a secondary mode, called "new mode", which changes
the layout of registers, adds some minor behavior changes, and
introduces a new way to transfer data called "packet mode".

Most of the bit positions of the fields are the same between old and new
mode, so we use SHARED_FIELD_XX macros to reuse most of the code between
the different modes.

For packet mode, most of the command behavior is the same compared to
other modes, but there are some minor changes to how interrupts are
handled compared to other modes.

151308677c pnv/xive2: Access direct mapped thread contexts from all chips
When accessing a thread context through the IC BAR, the offset of the
page in the BAR identifies the CPU. From that offset, we can compute
the PIR (processor ID register) of the CPU to do the data structure
lookup. On P10, the current code assumes an access for node 0 when
computing the PIR. Everything is almost in place to allow access for
other nodes though. So this patch reworks how the PIR value is
computed so that we can access all thread contexts through the IC BAR.

The PIR is already correct on P9, so no need to modify anything there.

453eb94c76 ppc: fix boot with sam460ex
Recent changes to pcie_host corrected size of its internal region to
match what it expects: only the low 28 bits are ever decoded. Previous
code just ignored bit 29 (if size was 1 << 29) in the address which does
not make much sense.  We are now asserting on size > 1 << 28 instead,
but PPC 4xx actually allows guest to configure different sizes, and some
firmwares seem to set it to 1 << 29.

This caused e.g. qemu-system-ppc -M sam460ex to exit with an assert when
the guest writes a value to CFGMSK register when trying to map config
space. This is done in the board firmware in ppc4xx_init_pcie_port() in
roms/u-boot-sam460ex/arch/powerpc/cpu/ppc4xx/4xx_pcie.c

It's not clear what the proper fix should be but for now let's force the
size to 256MB, so anything outside the expected address range is
ignored.

8c97e4deec acpi/erst: fix fallthrough code upon validation failure
At any step when any validation fail in check_erst_backend_storage(), there is
no need to continue further through other validation checks. Further, by
continuing even when record_size is 0, we run the risk of triggering a divide
by zero error if we continued with other validation checks. Hence, we should
simply return from this function upon validation failure.

0e660a6f90 crypto: Introduce RSA algorithm
There are two parts in this patch:
1, support akcipher service by cryptodev-builtin driver
2, virtio-crypto driver supports akcipher service

In principle, we should separate this into two patches, to avoid
compiling error, merge them into one.

Then virtio-crypto gets request from guest side, and forwards the
request to builtin driver to handle it.

Test with a guest linux:
1, The self-test framework of crypto layer works fine in guest kernel
2, Test with Linux guest(with asym support), the following script
test(note that pkey_XXX is supported only in a newer version of keyutils):
  - both public key & private key
  - create/close session
  - encrypt/decrypt/sign/verify basic driver operation
  - also test with kernel crypto layer(pkey add/query)

All the cases work fine.

90519b9053 virtio-iommu: Add bypass mode support to assigned device
Currently assigned devices can not work in virtio-iommu bypass mode.
Guest driver fails to probe the device due to DMA failure. And the
reason is because of lacking GPA -> HPA mappings when VM is created.

Add a root container memory region to hold both bypass memory region
and iommu memory region, so the switch between them is supported
just like the implementation in virtual VT-d.

b595d6272e virtio/vhost-user: Fix wrong vhost notifier GPtrArray size
In fetch_or_create_notifier, idx begins with 0. So the GPtrArray size
should be idx + 1 and g_ptr_array_set_size should be called with idx + 1.

This wrong GPtrArray size causes fetch_or_create_notifier return an invalid
address. Passing this invalid pointer to vhost_user_host_notifier_remove
causes assert fail:

    qemu/include/qemu/int128.h:27: int128_get64: Assertion `r == a' failed.
	shutting down, reason=crashed

Backends like dpdk-vdpa which sends out vhost notifier requests almost always
hit qemu crash.

a93d2e89e5 9pfs: fix 'Twalk' to only send error if no component walked
Current implementation of 'Twalk' request handling always sends an 'Rerror'
response if any error occured. The 9p2000 protocol spec says though:

  "
  If the first element cannot be walked for any reason, Rerror is returned.
  Otherwise, the walk will return an Rwalk message containing nwqid qids
  corresponding, in order, to the files that are visited by the nwqid
  successful elementwise walks; nwqid is therefore either nwname or the index
  of the first elementwise walk that failed.

For that reason we are no longer leaving from an error path in function
v9fs_walk(), unless really no path component could be walked successfully or
if the request has been interrupted.

Local variable 'nwalked' counts and reflects the number of path components
successfully processed by background I/O thread, whereas local variable
'name_idx' subsequently counts and reflects the number of path components
eventually accepted successfully by 9p server controller portion.

New local variable 'any_err' is an aggregate variable reflecting whether any
error occurred at all, while already existing variable 'err' only reflects
the last error.

Despite QIDs being delivered to client in a more relaxed way now, it is
important to note though that fid still must remain unaffected if any error
occurred.

[Changed submodule URL to QEMU's libvfio-user mirror on GitLab. The QEMU
project mirrors its dependencies so that it can provide full source code
even in the event that its dependencies become unavailable. Note that
the mirror repo is manually updated, so please contact me to make newer
libvfio-user commits available. If I become a bottleneck we can set up a
cronjob.

Updated scripts/meson-buildoptions.sh to match the meson_options.txt
change. Failure to do so can result in scripts/meson-buildoptions.sh
being modified by the build system later on and you end up with a dirty
working tree.

9b5b473eae remote/machine: add vfio-user property
Add vfio-user to x-remote machine. It is a boolean, which indicates if
the machine supports vfio-user protocol. The machine configures the bus
differently vfio-user and multiprocess protocols, so this property
informs it on how to configure the bus.

This property should be short lived. Once vfio-user fully replaces
multiprocess, this property could be removed.

217c7f01ad qdev: unplug blocker for devices
Add blocker to prevent hot-unplug of devices

TYPE_VFIO_USER_SERVER, which is introduced shortly, attaches itself to a
PCIDevice on which it depends. If the attached PCIDevice gets removed
while the server in use, it could cause it crash. To prevent this,
TYPE_VFIO_USER_SERVER adds an unplug blocker for the PCIDevice.

aeffd071ed ui: Deliver refresh rate via QemuUIInfo
This change adds a new member, refresh_rate to QemuUIInfo in
include/ui/console.h. It represents the refresh rate of the
physical display backend, and it is more appropriate than
GUI update interval as the refresh rate which the emulated device
reports:
- sdl may set GUI update interval shorter than the refresh rate
  of the physical display to respond to user-generated events.
- sdl and vnc aggressively changes GUI update interval, but
  a guests is typically not designed to respond to frequent
  refresh rate changes, or frequent "display mode" changes in
  general. The frequency of refresh rate changes of the physical
  display backend matches better to the guest's expectation.

QemuUIInfo also has other members representing "display mode",
which makes it suitable for refresh rate representation. It has
a throttling of update notifications, and prevents frequent changes
of the display mode.

f471e8b060 hw/usb/hcd-ehci: fix writeback order
The 'active' bit passes control over a qTD between the guest and the
controller: set to 1 by guest to enable execution by the controller,
and the controller sets it to '0' to hand back control to the guest.

ehci_state_writeback write two dwords to main memory using DMA:
the third dword of the qTD (containing dt, total bytes to transfer,
cpage, cerr and status) and the fourth dword of the qTD (containing
the offset).

This commit makes sure the fourth dword is written before the third,
avoiding a race condition where a new offset written into the qTD
by the guest after it observed the status going to go to '0' gets
overwritten by a 'late' DMA writeback of the previous offset.

This race condition could lead to 'cpage out of range (5)' errors,
and reproduced by:

./qemu-system-x86_64 -enable-kvm -bios $SEABIOS/bios.bin -m 4096 -device usb-ehci -blockdev driver=file,read-only=on,filename=/home/aengelen/Downloads/openSUSE-Tumbleweed-DVD-i586-Snapshot20220428-Media.iso,node-name=iso -device usb-storage,drive=iso,bootindex=0 -chardev pipe,id=shell,path=/tmp/pipe -device virtio-serial -device virtconsole,chardev=shell -device virtio-rng-pci -serial mon:stdio -nographic

(press a key, select 'Installation' (2), and accept the default
values. On my machine the 'cpage out of range' is reproduced while
loading the Linux Kernel about once per 7 attempts. With the fix in
this commit it no longer fails)

This problem was previously reported as a seabios problem in

This commit added a new emulated device called CanoKey to QEMU.

CanoKey implements platform independent features in canokey-core
https://github.com/canokeys/canokey-core, and leaves the USB implementation
to the platform.

In this commit the USB part was implemented in QEMU using QEMU's USB APIs,
therefore the emulated CanoKey can communicate with the guest OS using USB.

When QOMifying a device it is typical to use _init() as the suffix for an
instance_init function, however this name is already in use by the legacy
piix4_pm_init() wrapper function. Eventually the wrapper function will be
removed, but for now rename it to piix4_pm_initfn() to avoid a naming
collision.

0c285e0128 hw/block/fdc-sysbus: Always mark sysbus floppy controllers as not having DMA
The sysbus floppy controllers (devices sysbus-fdc and sun-fdtwo)
don't support DMA.  The core floppy controller code expects this to
be indicated by setting FDCtrl::dma_chann to -1.  This used to be
done in the device instance_init functions sysbus_fdc_initfn() and
sun4m_fdc_initfn(), but in commit 1430759ec3 we refactored this code
and accidentally lost the setting of dma_chann.

For sysbus-fdc this has no ill effects because we were redundantly
also setting dma_chann in fdctrl_init_sysbus(), but for sun-fdtwo
this means that guests which try to enable DMA on the floppy
controller will cause QEMU to crash because FDCtrl::dma is NULL.

Set dma_chann to -1 in the common instance init, and remove the
redundant code in fdctrl_init_sysbus() that is also setting it.

There is a six-year-old FIXME comment in the jazz board code to the
effect that in theory it should support doing DMA via a custom DMA
controller.  If anybody ever chooses to fix that they can do it by
adding support for setting both FDCtrl::dma_chann and FDCtrl::dma.
(A QOM link property 'dma-controller' on the sysbus device which can
be set to an instance of IsaDmaClass is probably the way to go.)

e5f73c8397 hw/acpi/viot: build array of PCI host bridges before generating VIOT ACPI table
Perform the generation of the VIOT ACPI table in 2 separate passes: the first pass
enumerates all of the PCI host bridges and adds the min_bus and max_bus information
to an array.

Once this is done the VIOT table header is generated using the size of the array
to calculate the node count, which means it is no longer necessary to use a
sub-array to hold the PCI host bridge range information along with viommu_off.

Finally the PCI host bridge array is iterated again to add the required entries
to the final VIOT ACPI table.

36f18c6989 pci: fix overflow in snprintf string formatting
the code in pcibus_get_fw_dev_path contained the potential for a
stack buffer overflow of 1 byte, potentially writing to the stack an
extra NUL byte.

This overflow could happen if the PCI slot is >= 0x10000000,
and the PCI function is >= 0x10000000, due to the size parameter
of snprintf being incorrectly calculated in the call:

    if (PCI_FUNC(d->devfn))
        snprintf(path + off, sizeof(path) + off, ",%x", PCI_FUNC(d->devfn));

since the off obtained from a previous call to snprintf is added
instead of subtracted from the total available size of the buffer.

Without the accurate size guard from snprintf, we end up writing in the
worst case:

name (32) + "@" (1) + SLOT (8) + "," (1) + FUNC (8) + term NUL (1) = 51 bytes

In order to provide something more robust, replace all of the code in
pcibus_get_fw_dev_path with a single call to g_strdup_printf,
so there is no need to rely on manual calculations.

Found by compiling QEMU with FORTIFY_SOURCE=3 as the error:

1ebf9001fb hw/cxl: Move the CXLState from MachineState to machine type specific state.
This removes the last of the CXL code from the MachineState where it
is visible to all Machines to only those that support CXL (currently i386/pc)
As i386/pc always support CXL now, stop allocating the state independently.

Note the pxb register hookup code runs even if cxl=off in order to detect
pxb_cxl host bridges and fail to start if any are present as they won't
have the control registers available.

7bd1900b36 pci/pci_expander_bridge: For CXL HB delay the HB register memory region setup.
As the CXLState will no long be accessible via MachineState
at time of PXB_CXL realization, come back later from the machine specific
code to fill in the missing memory region setup. Only at this stage
is it possible to check if cxl=on, so that check is moved to this
later point.

Note that for multiple host bridges, the allocation order of the
register spaces is changed. This will be reflected in ACPI CEDT.

Stubs are added to handle case of CONFIG_PXB=n for machines that
call these functions.

The bus walking logic is common to all machines so add a utility
function + stub to cxl-host*.

03b39fcf64 hw/cxl: Make the CXL fixed memory window setup a machine parameter.
Paolo Bonzini requested this change to simplify the ongoing
effort to allow machine setup entirely via RPC.

Includes shortening the command line form cxl-fixed-memory-window
to cxl-fmw as the command lines are extremely long even with this
change.

The json change is needed to ensure that there is
a CXLFixedMemoryWindowOptionsList even though the actual
element in the json is never used. Similar to existing
SgxEpcProperties.

Update qemu-options.hx to reflect that this is now a -machine
parameter.  The bulk of -M / -machine parameters are documented
under machine, so use that in preference to M.

Update cxl-test and bios-tables-test to reflect new parameters.

way to build bridge AML including all devices that are attached
to its ISA bus.

Later when PCI is converted to AcpiDevAmlIf, build_q35_isa_bridge()
will also be dropped since PCI parts itself will take care of
building device prologue/epilogue AML for each enumerated PCI device.

Expected AML change is contextual, where ISA devices are moved from
separately declared _SB.PCI0.ISA scope, directly under Device(ISA)
node.

Later when PCI is converted to AcpiDevAmlIf, build_piix4_isa_bridge()
will also be dropped since PCI parts itself will take care of
building device prologue/epilogue AML for each enumerated PCI
device.

Expected AML change is contextual, where ISA devices are moved
from separately declared _SB.PCI0.ISA scope , directly under
Device(ISA) node.

4b66ddcc4d acpi: ich9-smb: add support for AcpiDevAmlIf interface
wire AcpiDevAmlIf interface to build ich9-smb and its slave
devices AML. It will be used by followup patches to switch
from creating AML in ad-hoc way to a more systematic one
that will scan present devices and ask them to provide
their AML code like it's done with ISA devices.

This patch is a partial conversion, as it only fetches
AML from slave devices attached to its I2C bus.

The conversion will be completed when PCI bus is
switched to use AcpiDevAmlIf and build_smb0() could be
dropped.

ea01c52291 ipmi: acpi: use relative path to resource source
smbus-ipmi AML description needs to specify a path to its parent
node in _CRS. The rest of IPMI inplementations (ISA based)
do not need path at all. Instead of passing through a full path
use relative path to point to smbus-ipmi's parent node, it will
let follow up patches to create IPMI device AML in a generic
way instead of current ad-hoc way. (i.e. AML will be generated
the same way it's done for other ISA device, and smbus will be
converted to generate AML for its slave devices the same way
as ISA)

There is already ISADeviceClass::build_aml() callback which
builds device specific AML blob for some ISA devices.
To extend the same idea to other devices, add TYPE_ACPI_DEV_AML_IF
Interface that will provide a more generic callback which
will be used not only for ISA but other devices. It will
allow get rid of some data-mining and ad-hoc AML building,
by asking device(s) to generate its own AML blob like it's
done for ISA devices.

Various loader functions return an int which limits images to 2GB which
is fine for things like a BIOS/kernel image, but if we want to be able
to load memory images or large ramdisks then any file over 2GB would
silently fail to load.

Since commit ad40be27 "target/riscv: Support start kernel directly by
KVM" we have been overflowing the addr_config on "M,MS..."
configurations, as reported https://gitlab.com/qemu-project/qemu/-/issues/1050.

This commit changes the loop in sifive_plic_create() from iterating over
the number of harts to just iterating over the addr_config. The
addr_config is based on the hart_config, and will contain interrup details
for all harts. This way we can't iterate past the end of addr_config.

6a8a8b62bd include/hw/ide: Unexport pci_piix3_xen_ide_unplug()
This function was declared in a generic and public header, implemented
in a device-specific source file but only used in xen_platform. Given its
'aux' parameter, this function is more xen-specific than piix-specific.
Also, the hardcoded magic constants seem to be generic and related to
PCIIDEState and IDEBus rather than piix.

Therefore, move this function to xen_platform, unexport it, and drop the
"piix3" in the function name as well.

b3f5cc3fda xlnx-zynqmp: fix the irq mapping for the display port and its dma
When the display port has been initially implemented the device
driver wasn't using interrupts.  Now that the display port driver
waits for vblank interrupt it has been noticed that the irq mapping
is wrong.  So use the value from the linux device tree and the
ultrascale+ reference manual.

We have about 30 instances of the typo/variant spelling 'writeable',
and over 500 of the more common 'writable'.  Standardize on the
latter.

Change produced with:

  sed -i -e 's/\([Ww][Rr][Ii][Tt]\)[Ee]\([Aa][Bb][Ll][Ee]\)/\1\2/g' $(git grep -il writeable)

and then hand-undoing the instance in linux-headers/linux/kvm.h.

Most of these changes are in comments or documentation; the
exceptions are:
 * a local variable in accel/hvf/hvf-accel-ops.c
 * a local variable in accel/kvm/kvm-all.c
 * the PMCR_WRITABLE_MASK macro in target/arm/internals.h

e37a0ef460 tpm_crb: mark command buffer as dirty on request completion
At the moment, there doesn't seems to be any way to know that QEMU
made modification to the command buffer. This is potentially an issue
on Xen while migrating a guest, as modification to the buffer after
the migration as started could be ignored and not transfered to the
destination.

Mark the memory region of the command buffer as dirty once a request
is completed.

24ce7aa77d modules: introduces module_kconfig directive
module_kconfig is a new directive that should be used with module_obj
whenever that module depends on the Kconfig to be enabled.

When the module is enabled in Kconfig we are sure that its dependencies
will be enabled as well, thus the module will be loaded without any
problem.

The correct way to use module_kconfig is by passing the Kconfig option
to module_kconfig (or the *config-devices.mak without CONFIG_).

NVMe command set specification for end-to-end data protection formatted
namespace states:

    o If the Reference Tag Check bit of the PRCHK field is set to ‘1’ and
      the namespace is formatted for Type 3 protection, then the
      controller:
          ▪ should not compare the protection Information Reference Tag
            field to the computed reference tag; and
          ▪ may ignore the ILBRT and EILBRT fields. If a command is
            aborted as a result of the Reference Tag Check bit of the
            PRCHK field being set to ‘1’, then that command should be
            aborted with a status code of Invalid Protection Information,
            but may be aborted with a status code of Invalid Field in
            Command.

Currently qemu compares reftag in the nvme_dif_prchk function whenever
Reference Tag Check bit is set in the command. For type 3 namespaces
however, caller of nvme_dif_prchk - nvme_dif_check does not increment
reftag for each subsequent logical block. That way commands incorporating
more than one logical block for type 3 formatted namespaces with reftag
check bit set, always fail with End-to-end Reference Tag Check Error.
Comply with spec by handling case of set Reference Tag Check
bit in the type 3 formatted namespace.

The Linux kernel quirks the QEMU NVMe controller pretty heavily because
of the namespace identifier mess. Since this is now fixed, bump the
firmware revision number to allow the quirk to be disabled for this
revision.

As of now, bump the firmware revision number to be equal to the QEMU

Do not default to generate an UUID for namespaces if it is not
explicitly specified.

This is a technically a breaking change in behavior. However, since the
UUID changes on every VM launch, it is not spec compliant and is of
little use since the UUID cannot be used reliably anyway and the
behavior prior to this patch must be considered buggy.

We cannot provide auto-generated unique or persistent namespace
identifiers (EUI64, NGUID, UUID) easily. Since 6.1, namespaces have been
assigned a generated EUI64 of the form "52:54:00:<namespace counter>".
This is will be unique within a QEMU instance, but not globally.

Revert that this is assigned automatically and immediately deprecate the
compatibility parameter. Users can opt-in to this with the
`eui64-default=on` device parameter or set it explicitly with
`eui64=UINT64`.

2e8f952ae7 hw/nvme: fix copy cmd for pi enabled namespaces
Current implementation have problem in the read part of copy command.
Because there is no metadata mangling before nvme_dif_check invocation,
reftag error could be thrown for blocks of namespace that have not been
previously written to.

51c4532663 hw/nvme: add missing return statement
Since there is no return after nvme_dsm_cb invocation, metadata
associated with non-zero block range is currently zeroed. Also this
behaviour leads to segfault since we schedule iocb->bh two times.
First when entering nvme_dsm_cb with iocb->idx == iocb->nr and
second because of missing return on call stack unwinding by calling
blk_aio_pwrite_zeroes and subsequent nvme_dsm_cb callback.

1e64facc01 hw/nvme: fix narrowing conversion
Since nlbas is of type int, it does not work with large namespace size
values, e.g., 9 TB size of file backing namespace and 8 byte metadata
with 4096 bytes lbasz gives negative nlbas value, which is later
promoted to negative int64_t type value and results in negative
ns->moff which breaks namespace

ec8c293678 hw/s390x/s390-virtio-ccw: Improve the machine description string
The machine name already contains the words "ccw" and "virtio", so
using "VirtIO-ccw" in the description likely does not really help
the average user to get an idea what this machine type is about.
Thus let's switch to "Virtual s390x machine" now, since "virtual
machine" should be a familiar term, and "s390x" signals that this
is about 64-bit guests (unlike S390 which could mean that it is
31-bit only).
Also expand "v" to "version", since this makes it easier to use
this macro also with non-numeric machine names in downstream.

4d84bb6c8b hw/tpm/tpm_tis_common.c: Assert that locty is in range
In tpm_tis_mmio_read(), tpm_tis_mmio_write() and
tpm_tis_dump_state(), we calculate a locality index with
tpm_tis_locality_from_addr() and then use it as an index into the
s->loc[] array.  In all these cases, the array index can't overflow
because the MemoryRegion is sized to be TPM_TIS_NUM_LOCALITIES <<
TPM_TIS_LOCALITY_SHIFT bytes.  However, Coverity can't see that, and
it complains (CID 1487138, 1487180, 1487188, 1487198, 1487240).

Add an assertion to tpm_tis_locality_from_addr() that the calculated
locality index is valid, which will help Coverity and also catch any
potential future bug where the MemoryRegion isn't sized exactly.

U-Boot queries the FIFO water level to reduce checking status register
when doing PIO SD card operation.

5079892df5 hppa: Fix serial port assignments and pass-through
This fixes the serial ports in the emulation to behave as on original
hardware.

On the real hardware, the LASI UART is serial port #0 and the DINO UART
is serial port #1. This is fixed in SeaBIOS-hppa firmware v6, which is
why at least this firmware version is required.

The serial port addresses in hppa/hppa_hardware.h have to be swapped,
and when creating the virtual serial ports the correct port addresses
are used.

This patch now for example allows to specify on the qemu command line:
     -serial mon:stdio -serial /dev/ttyS4
to use the emulated ttyS0 in the guest for console output, and pass
ttyS4 from the host to ttyS1 in the guest.
