Gleb Volkov f6872bd7a1 Migrate Spine extension to @esotericsoftware/spine-pixi-v7 (#8595)
- Replace the third-party `pixi-spine@4.0.4` with the official Esoteric Software runtime for PixiJS v7 (`@esotericsoftware/spine-pixi-v7@4.2.116`).
- The new runtime only fully supports skeletons exported from **Spine 4.2**. Older exports (e.g. 4.0) may partially render but mesh deformations won't work due to a Spine JSON schema change (`deform` → `attachments`).

Florian Rival 98a24dc8fc Add support for profiles and exclusions in Save States (#7897) 2025-10-11 15:47:31 +02:00
Clément Pasteau e174136fb4 New Save & Load built-in actions (#7811)
* New actions are available to save & load the game state, making Saving & Loading as easy as adding 1 action to your game!
* While it will work in most cases, it has a few limitations and hasn't been thoroughly tested on all types of objects/behaviors and games, so it is for the moment tagged as **Experimental** while we gather feedback and improve it
* Check out the wiki for more info: https://wiki.gdevelop.io/gdevelop5/all-features/save-state

ViktorVovk 5c71a4da56 Allow to unload scene resources when a scene is exited (#7381)
* This adds two new settings, available in the Project Properties and in the Scene Properties dialog, to allow to specify the strategy for preloading resources of the scenes and unloading them. By default, a game will preload in background the resources of all scenes. It will never unload these resources (so scene switching is fast).
* You can now choose to unload the resources of a scene when the scene is left using the "Resources unloading" field. If the scene is launched again later, it will load its resources again.
* You can also choose to change the preloading to disable it for all scenes (by modifying the setting in the project properties) or enable it/disable it on a scene by scene basis. This can be useful for large or modular games where you anticipate the player to only play some scenes, or if you want to reduce the resources that needs to be loaded on a web game.

Vladyslav Pohorielov d0005ba2cb Add support for Spine objects (2D skeletal animation) (#5927)
* This allows to use animatable 2D objects created with Spine (purchase a licence on [their website](https://esotericsoftware.com/) if you're interested).
* 2D skeletal animation allows for very smooth animations, and keep resource usage low compared to animations made of frames like Sprite objects. It's perfect for 2D games and can be used for animated characters, avatars, UI elements.
* Many thanks to @f0nar and @LousyMolars for their work on this new feature and associated game examples!

Florian Rival 913e367f6f Allow to properly use variables/properties/parameters in brackets to access a structure variable (#5738)
* This means expressions like `MyStructure[SomeIndexVariable]` will work properly for a structure if `SomeIndexVariable` is a string variable. Gdevelop now properly uses the type of the variable/property/parameter (to avoid considering what's inside the brackets as a number if it's a string). Remember to declare your variables in the variables editor so that you can use them in expressions.

Florian Rival 7cdc92c776 Introduce the "Wait X seconds" action (#3852)
* This action allow to wait for a few seconds before continuing to run the next actions and sub-events.
* It is perfect to create cut scenes, advanced logic or just run things progressively without relying on timers. In a lot of cases, it's simpler and faster to use this new action.
* The action remember the picked objects: it works like an usual event, but run the actions (and sub-events) a bit later in time. While the action wait, other events continue to run as usual.
* Thanks to @arthuro555 for the ground work and follow up on this new feature.

Only show the rest in developer changelog:

* Add support for asynchronous actions (including for objects).
* Add exhaustive test cases for asynchronous actions.

Florian Rival 7597dbe0d1 Add (new) conditions and expressions to compare the number of instances picked or living on the scene (#3842)
* Add `PickedInstancesCount` and `SceneInstancesCount` expressions, to replace `Count`. These expressions don't do any "picking" of instances, so they are safe to use anywhere without "weird" side effects.
* Equivalent conditions are available for all objects. These conditions allow to check at any point in your events the number of instances living on the scene or picked by actions/conditions.
  * This is useful to check if enough objects are picked by a condition before launching an action.
  * Because this condition does not change the already picked objects, it's safe to use anywhere without any side effect.

Only show the rest in the developer changelog:
* Allow to read events missing some fields (like `disabled`, `folded`).
* Reduce the useless information stored in project JSON files by not storing the fields if they have their default value.

Florian Rival 71e3b65134 Add a new "Text input" object (#3508)
* This object displays a field where the player can type a text.
* The cursor can be moved and the text can be selected and entered like any other input field according to the platform. For example, you can use all the usual keyboard shortcuts or emoji pickers on desktop. On mobile, all the usual gestures are supported, emoji pickers, text selection, clipboard...
* You can choose between different input field types: text, text area, email, password, phone number... This allows the keyboards to be adapted on mobile devices. The password field will also hide what is entered by the user.
  * Because the object is way more convenient to use (and actually works on mobile devices) than the Text Entry object, it is recommended you use it almost always instead of the Text Entry object.
* This object has 2 limitations, because it's using the native capabilities of the platform to display a "native" input field: the Z order can't be changed (the object is *always* displayed on top of the game) and no effects can be displayed. Because it's handled by the operating system, it may also slightly differ on each platform.
  * It's recommended you avoid displaying the object outside of a menu or a static UI, as it may not always display exactly at a position synchronised with the rest of the rendering of the game, especially if used in a fast paced or moving scene.

D8H d40e360b8a Add support for behaviors based on other behaviors ("behavior composition") (#2781)
* This allows [custom behaviors](http://wiki.compilgames.net/doku.php/gdevelop5/behaviors/events-based-behaviors), that you can create in your project or get from extensions, to require the presence of one or multiple other behaviors on an object.
  * This is an advanced feature that is helpful to create behaviors that are based on other. For example, a behavior "Platformer enemy" using the "Platformer object" behavior and adding specific actions, conditions and logic to make an enemy chase the player.
  * If you create a behavior and want to use this, just go to the properties of this behavior and add a new property. Choose the type "Required Behavior" for this property. You can then use this new behavior in the events of the behavior you just edited.
* To use a behavior based on another, you don't need to do anything special! Just add it to your object as usual: any missing behavior will be added to your object, so you can start using it immediately.

Harsimran Singh Virk 599ccb677f Add support for visual effects ("shaders") on objects. (#2901)
* This allows to generate interesting visual effects, which can be controlled by events. For example, you can use an outline on an object to highlight, make the player glow when launching a spell, blur objects, etc...
* A new "effects" tab is now present in the objects editor. From there, you can add visual effects, that were already available for layers, customize them from this editor.
* Actions and conditions are available to manipulate effects and change their parameters during the game.

Florian Rival 721b021b0a Fix memory leak and warning about texture not found.
Replaced the invalid texture for the PIXI image manager by a valid, hardcoded image. This:
* avoids a warning about not being able to load bunny.png (finally!)
* when creating a new Sprite, the invalid texture being used while the sprite is being set up, this was making PIXI adding a new event listener on the bunny.png texture. As the texture was not loaded, the event listener would never be removed, creating a leak.

Verified that the memory consumption is now stable on "Collisions with creation and deletion benchmark.gdg.json" benchmark game.

Florian Rival 74bbd45265 Add test game to check the proper rotation/flip of a sprite with a non default center 2019-10-26 11:04:23 +01:00
Florian Rival 23987f63c7 Change sprites flipping to use the center point as center for flipping
As flipping can be considered as a way to "rotate" things, it makes sense to have it used as a center for flipping too.i
This is useful for objects that are moving and can be flipped according to if they are going left or right: they can now
be rotated and flipped "properly" (properly means that the center will stay at the same position when flipped/rotated)

This means that the center point won't move when the sprite is rotated or flipped.
The origin is still used as the point not moving in case of scaling. (this make sense because scaling is about the size, and origin about positioning)
This remove some calculations in the renderers, but add others in getDrawableX/Y and getCenterX/Y in case of flipping.
