3a5f570d6f Bug 987514, part 3 - Make every global have a (usually empty) Reflect object; rename JS_InitReflect -> JS_InitReflectParse. r=Waldo. 
The bit in MIRGenerator.h fixes a straight-up bug in the code, masked until now by unified builds (and unmasked because this patch adds a .cpp file, perturbing the unified build boundaries).

f26bc6851d Bug 1182357 - Implement support for optional size_is for arrays passed from JS. r=mrbkap 
The fact that the caller needs to pass this is just an artifact of the clunky
XPIDL type system. This should let us make nicer APIs.

f976bf5495 Bug 1179071 - Merge RemovingIterator into Iterator. r=froydnj. 
The original motivation for the Iterator/RemovingIterator split was that
PLDHashTable Checker class would treat them differently. But that didn't end up
happening (see bug 1131308). So this patch merges them. This is a small code
size win now but it will become bigger when I add iterators to nsTHashTable and
nsBaseHashtable.

The only complication is that PLDHashTable::Iter() is now non-const, which is
a problem if you use it in a const method. So I added PLDHashTable::ConstIter()
which is used in just two places. It's a bit of a hack -- effectively a
const_cast -- but I don't think it's too bad.

5ed657a8e9 Bug 1171305 - Remove lots of now-unnecessary null-checks involving XPCMaps. r=mrbkap. 
Possible because both |new| and PLDHashTable initialization are infallible now.

I had to use NS_ABORT_OOM for a couple of the maps that use js::HashTable,
which still has fallible initialization. There were a couple of uses of those
maps that weren't protected by null-checks, so we would have got crashes anyway
if they had OOMed.

This is straightforward mapping of PR_LOG levels to their LogLevel
counterparts:
  PR_LOG_ERROR   -> LogLevel::Error
  PR_LOG_WARNING -> LogLevel::Warning
  PR_LOG_WARN    -> LogLevel::Warning
  PR_LOG_INFO    -> LogLevel::Info
  PR_LOG_DEBUG   -> LogLevel::Debug
  PR_LOG_NOTICE  -> LogLevel::Debug
  PR_LOG_VERBOSE -> LogLevel::Verbose

Instances of PRLogModuleLevel were mapped to a fully qualified
mozilla::LogLevel, instances of PR_LOG levels in #defines were mapped to a
fully qualified mozilla::LogLevel::* level, and all other instances were
mapped to us a shorter format of LogLevel::*.

Bustage for usage of the non-fully qualified LogLevel were fixed by adding
|using mozilla::LogLevel;| where appropriate.

a9afd68cef Bug 1165515 - Part 13-2: Replace usage of PRLogModuleLevel and PR_LOG_*. rs=froydnj 
This is straightforward mapping of PR_LOG levels to their LogLevel
counterparts:
  PR_LOG_ERROR   -> LogLevel::Error
  PR_LOG_WARNING -> LogLevel::Warning
  PR_LOG_WARN    -> LogLevel::Warning
  PR_LOG_INFO    -> LogLevel::Info
  PR_LOG_DEBUG   -> LogLevel::Debug
  PR_LOG_NOTICE  -> LogLevel::Debug
  PR_LOG_VERBOSE -> LogLevel::Verbose

Instances of PRLogModuleLevel were mapped to a fully qualified
mozilla::LogLevel, instances of PR_LOG levels in #defines were mapped to a
fully qualified mozilla::LogLevel::* level, and all other instances were
mapped to us a shorter format of LogLevel::*.

Bustage for usage of the non-fully qualified LogLevel were fixed by adding
|using mozilla::LogLevel;| where appropriate.

a0ebdaa191 Bug 1162187 - Factor out single line argument processing into a helper. r=glandium 
This change introduces a minor regression: exceptions thrown during result
stringification will trigger the error reporter (since there's no script on
the stack), which will cause XPCShell to return a runtime error. The fix for
this problem is to mark the AutoJSAPI as taking ownership of error reporting,
which will prevent SpiderMonkey for playing the error-reporting guessing game.
That will happen further on in this patch stack, so I'm not going to worry about
it for now.

7c97866f05 Bug 1103375 - Fix some crashes triggered from about:memory. r=mrbkap. 
We can't call JS code while iterating over the JS heap in the JS memory
reporter. The Yandex Elements add-on is causing this in two cases.

- The add-on implements some nsIURI objects. This one's easy to work around,
  because GetLocation() can just skip any JS-implemented nsIURI objects.

- The add-on implements some nsIProtocolHandler objects in order to
  implement a custom "xb://" scheme. This one is harder to workaround because
  the call to the JS object's method occurs deep within NS_NewURI(), well
  beyond the JS reporter code. So we just skip "xb://" URLs.

2d929a5569 Bug 1158558, part 2 - Finish incremental GCs in progress in BeginCollection() and ShutdownCollect(). r=smaug 
Various parts of the first half of BeginCollection() can start an incremental GC.
This is bad because running the GC and CC at the same time can cause the CC to end
up with pointers to dead JS objects.

To avoid this, we finish any incremental GC in progress in BeginCollection. This
is slow, but hopefully it is rare.

ca5ebe4305 Bug 1157648 - Make nsScriptError::ToString use only the first 512 characters of mSourceName and mSourceLine. r=bholley 
This means that when mSourceName and mSourceLine are large, ToString is
not excessively expensive.

This is particularly important for CSS errors, where we don't make an
attempt to truncate these prior to constructing the script error, but we
do ensure that when we report multiple errors on the same line (which is
common for minified CSS), we share from the same string buffer and avoid
copying.

The new code takes over some cases that used to be handled by each of the three cases that follow it. Therefore there are changes in all three cases, particularly the desc.isAccessorDescriptor() case, which no longer needs the sparsify code.

e457975e9d Bug 1152784 - Be more robust about possible intermediate wrappers in IsFrameId. r=bz 
Boris and I debugged this. It looks like we're somehow ending up with an
XrayWaiver on the other end of a CrossOriginXrayWrapper. The specifics of how
this happens are a bit fuzzy to me, but it's presumably happening in all the
brain transplant weirdness we do when recomputing wrappers during document.domain.

Having an XrayWaiver there isn't unsafe - the wrapper computation algorithm
will ignore the waiver if the principals don't allow the caller to waive. But
it does throw a wrench in some brittle code that only expects certain kinds
of wrappers. Let's just do what XrayTraits::getTargetObject does. I don't think
this is really unsafe at all, because the only wrapper with a security boundary
is the CCW, and we're already stripping that off unconditionally with
Wrapper::wrappedObject.

1def388b28 Bug 1142794 - Change 'receiver' argument to SetProperty functions and ProxyHandler::set methods to be a HandleValue. r=Waldo. 
Also: Change signature of these functions and methods to all have the same arguments in the same order: (cx, obj, id, v, receiver). Also change v from MutableHandleValue to HandleValue.

There is no change in behavior.

In fact the new error message `JSMSG_SET_NON_OBJECT_RECEIVER` is
impossible to trigger from scripts for now, I think (after re-reading
the whole patch with this in mind). JS_ForwardSetPropertyTo is the only
way to get a non-object receiver into the engine, but no caller
currently does so.

We're installing new pipes here, and they should work, but for now it's
the same cold water flowing through as before. Actually hooking up the
hot water is left for another bug (one with tests, not to put too fine a
point on it).

Notes:

*   InvokeGetterOrSetter had to be split into two functions:
    InvokeGetter takes a MutableHandleValue out-param,
    InvokeSetter a HandleValue in-param.

*   Watchpoints can still tamper with values being assigned. So can
    JSSetterOps. I'm pleased we can support this craziness in a way that
    doesn't have to spread via the type system to encompass the entire
    codebase.

*   Change in GlobalObject::setIntrinsicValue is not really a change.
    Yes, it asserted before, but an exception thrown during self-hosting
    initialization is not going to go unnoticed either.

*   Since the receiver argument to js::SetProperty() is at the end now, it
    makes sense for it to be optional. Some callers look nicer.

735dca6f1b Bug 1142794 - Change 'receiver' argument to SetProperty functions and ProxyHandler::set methods to be a HandleValue. r=Waldo. 
Also: Change signature of these functions and methods to all have the same arguments in the same order: (cx, obj, id, v, receiver). Also change v from MutableHandleValue to HandleValue.

There is no change in behavior.

In fact the new error message `JSMSG_SET_NON_OBJECT_RECEIVER` is
impossible to trigger from scripts for now, I think (after re-reading
the whole patch with this in mind). JS_ForwardSetPropertyTo is the only
way to get a non-object receiver into the engine, but no caller
currently does so.

We're installing new pipes here, and they should work, but for now it's
the same cold water flowing through as before. Actually hooking up the
hot water is left for another bug (one with tests, not to put too fine a
point on it).

Notes:

*   InvokeGetterOrSetter had to be split into two functions:
    InvokeGetter takes a MutableHandleValue out-param,
    InvokeSetter a HandleValue in-param.

*   Watchpoints can still tamper with values being assigned. So can
    JSSetterOps. I'm pleased we can support this craziness in a way that
    doesn't have to spread via the type system to encompass the entire
    codebase.

*   Change in GlobalObject::setIntrinsicValue is not really a change.
    Yes, it asserted before, but an exception thrown during self-hosting
    initialization is not going to go unnoticed either.

*   Since the receiver argument to js::SetProperty() is at the end now, it
    makes sense for it to be optional. Some callers look nicer.

f45ce06bc8 Bug 1133081, part 5 - Remove non-asserting PropertyDescriptor accessors in favor of the new PropDesc-inspired asserting accessors. r=efaust. 
value() can't assert hasValue() because too many places have plausible reasons for calling it on a PropertyDescriptor they basically know nothing about. One such place is CompartmentChecker::check(Handle<JSPropertyDescriptor>). Another is DefinePropertyByDescriptor. Maybe this will change with time.

In some cases we do things like `desc.hasWritable() && desc.writable() != existing_desc.writable()`. It is OK to write it this way, even though we have not checked existing_desc.hasWritable(), because in these cases we already know existingDesc is a complete property descriptor.

Add an ObjectOpResult out-param for DefineProperty functions everywhere. We leave a few js::DefineProperty() convenience functions with no *result out-param. These have strict behavior: that is, they automatically check the result and throw if it is false. In bug 1125624 these strict signatures may end up being called DefinePropertyOrThrow, as that is what the spec calls it.

f325953043 Bug 1050035 (part 3) - Remove PL_NewDHashTable() and PL_DHashTableDestroy(). r=froydnj. 
Because they are now just equivalent to |new PLDHashTable()| +
PL_DHashTableInit() and PL_DHashTableFinish(t) + |delete t|, respectively.

They're only used in a handful of places and obscure things more than they
clarify -- I only recently worked out exactly how they different from Init()
and Finish().

Because it's no longer needed now that entry storage isn't allocated there.
(The other possible causes of failures are much less interesting and simply
crashing is a reasonable thing to do for them.)

This also makes PL_DNewHashTable() infallible.

3163cfc2c1 Bug 1124973 (part 2) - Introduce PL_DHashTableSearch(), and replace most PL_DHashTableLookup() calls with it. r=froydnj. 
It feels safer to use a function with a new name, rather than just changing the
behaviour of the existing function.

For most of these cases the PL_DHashTableLookup() result was checked with
PL_DHASH_ENTRY_IS_{FREE,BUSY} so the conversion was easy. A few of them
preceded that check with a useless null check, but the intent of these was
still easy to determine.

I'll do the trickier ones in subsequent patches.

This variable is only used for pointer comparison in order to compute
a cache match.  This patch converts the type of the variable to void*
so that it can still be used for the pointer comparison, but not for
any other purpose, including dereferencing, since the pointer may
potentially be dangling if the string buffer dies.
