The basic idea is that mOriginalDisplay and mOriginalFloats are kept synchronized with mDisplay and mFloats unless the latter are changed due to position:absolute/fixed (for both) or float:left/right (for display).  When initializing an nsStyleDisplay from a start struct, we restore the values from mOriginalDisplay/Floats to get correct behavior.

1c68a1582a Bug 696233. Switch the nth-index cache to having a single hashtable per selector type (from end vs from start and of-type vs not-of-type). Gives somewhat better cache locality on some workloads and makes entry addition much cheaper because we no longer need to initialize all the new memory when the hashtable store is resized; we just initialize the parts of it we need as we need them. r=smaug 2011-10-26 15:34:20 -04:00

There are two changes here.  The first is that the aCheckEdgeOnly case is factored out into a separate branch so as to avoid branching on aCheckEdgeOnly inside the sibling loop.  This also allows us to reuse the IndexDetermined code for both aIsFromEnd and !aIsFromEnd cases.  In particular, when aIsFromEnd we start by walking backwards and hoping for a cached index on a previous sibling and only walking forwards if that fails.  For short child lists there's not that much of a difference, but for long ones this is a win.

4b84fe41d5 Bug 659828 - Part 1: Apply table margins to the outer table frame instead of the inner table frame (also fixes bug 87277); r=dbaron 
Outer table frames act as CSS2.1 table wrapper boxes.  We used to lay them out
without taking their margins into the account, which meant that their width was
always equal to the available width.  This breaks horizontal positioning of
absolutely positioned kids of a table frame.

The main purpose of this patch is to apply the margins of tables to their outer
frame, instead of the inner frame.  This means that the inner table frame will
always have a zero margin, which means that a lot of the stuff which used to
rely on the fact that table margins are applied to the inner frame need to
change.

In particular, in order to get the computed margins of a table, we used to query
the inner table frame, and this patch corrects that.  Also, when shrink wrapping
tables, we used to not take the margins of the inner table frame into account,
which is fixed by this patch too.  nsBlockReflowState::
ComputeReplacedBlockOffsetsForFloats also needed to be changed to read the
margin values from the outer frame too.

Also, as part of this patch, we start to respect the CSS2.1 margin model for
captions on all sides.  This means that in particular, the top/bottom margins on
the top-outside and bottom-outside captions will not be collapsed with the
top/bottom margins of the table, and that the margins of the caption element
contribute to the width and height of the outer table frame.  The
427129-table-caption reftest has been modified to match this new behavior.

Another side effect of this bug is fixing bug 87277, and the reftests for that
bug are marked as passing in this patch.

b47daece8e Make nsRuleNode's use of font metrics for ch and ex units pass the correct language. (Bug 678671, patch 3) r=roc 
This makes these users (which are exceptions within layout, although
low-level enough that it won't matter for font inflation work) call
through to GetMetricsFor explicitly with the correct language, rather
than using the broken nsPresContext::GetMetricsFor and its
charset-detected language.

This improves the correctness of our behavior for 'ch' and 'ex' CSS
units when the font selection (or defaults) are language-dependent.  It
should also reduce the number of unique sets of font metrics requested
(which helps nsFontCache effectiveness).

4dbadf264d Bug 403524: Make textarea not inherit text decorations and correct the failing reftest (r=dbaron) 
Originally, this reftest only failed on Windows (see bug 585684).
However, upon making standards mode compliant with CSS2.1, the bug
described in 585684 spread to all platforms, indicating it was actually
a layout bug and not d2d per se.  This patch makes the anonymous div
inside textareas and text inputs inline-blocks so that they ignore
decorations defined on ancestors.

e915e08a19 Fix text-decoration positioning in quirks mode and set overflow areas to match. (Bug 403524) r=dbaron 
Change the quirks mode text-decoration code (soon to be used for all
modes) to follow CSS 2.1's rules for positioning of decoration lines.
Decorations are now drawn at a constant vertical position established by
the element creating the decoration, and more than one of the same type
(underline, overline, line-through) of decoration are supported on the
same piece of text.

This means that text-decorations can now significantly overflow a text
frame, since the vertical-alignment of the element with text-decoration
may be substantially different from the vertical alignment of the text.
Set overflow areas for text frames with text decorations in
nsLineLayout::RelativePositionFrames since it must happen *after*
vertical alignment is done, and when relative positioning data are
consistent (nsIFrame::GetRelativeOffset matches the offset that has been
applied).

d034eefa80 Bug 597291. Create nsIURI objects lazily for nsCSSValue::URL, so that we don't pay the cost of creating the ones we don't actually need. r=dbaron 
In the new setup, the mURL member of nsCSSValue::URL stores either the actual URI pointed to or the base URI; a boolean flag keeps track of which is stored.  Consumers use GetURI() to get the URI instead of raw access to mURI, and GetURI calls NS_NewURI as needed.
