Mervin Praison 0ff0d83744 fix: Preserve real API keys for integration tests in conftest.py
- Check for @pytest.mark.integration marker
- Check if test file is in integration/ directory
- This prevents conftest from overriding real API keys with 'test-key'

Mervin Praison 8f956f91dd fix: Improve API key validation in integration test skip conditions
- Check for 'sk-' prefix and minimum length (40 chars) to detect invalid keys
- This ensures tests are skipped when using placeholder/test API keys in CI
2025-12-20 03:54:58 +00:00
Mervin Praison 954f6ac33d fix: Skip integration tests when using test API key
- test_auto_generator_integration.py: Skip when OPENAI_API_KEY contains 'test'
- test_model_routing_real.py: Skip test_real_openai_call when using test key
- test_cli_integrations.py: Skip all tests when using test key

These tests require real API credentials and should not run in CI
when only a placeholder test key is available.

Mervin Praison 77ac4b7a09 fix: Use _yaml_action from YAML parser when executing workflow steps
The action/description field from YAML was being stored on the agent but not
used when executing the workflow. Now the _normalize_single_step method
checks for _yaml_action and uses it as the prompt.

This fixes the issue where workflow steps were not using the action as the prompt.

Mervin Praison c267cdda87 Release v2.3.26 2025-12-17 11:47:04 +00:00
Mervin Praison b88bb04090 feat: Add feature parity between agents.yaml and workflow.yaml
Workflow.yaml now supports all agents.yaml features:

Agent-level features:
- framework (praisonai, crewai, autogen)
- process (sequential, hierarchical, workflow)
- manager_llm for hierarchical process
- function_calling_llm
- max_rpm (rate limiting)
- max_execution_time (timeout)
- reflect_llm, min_reflect, max_reflect
- system_template, prompt_template, response_template
- backstory (alias for instructions)

Step-level features:
- expected_output (like agents.yaml tasks)
- context (task dependencies)
- output_json, output_pydantic (structured output)
- create_directory
- callback
- async_execution

Added 14 new TDD tests for feature parity verification.
All 41 YAML parser tests pass.
2025-12-17 11:40:38 +00:00
Mervin Praison 709a35fbdc refactor: Remove duplicate code
- Remove duplicate _convert_roles_to_agents from agents_generator.py
  (YAMLWorkflowParser already handles this conversion)
- Refactor _create_workflow_from_template in main.py to use
  WorkflowHandler.TEMPLATES instead of duplicating templates

This reduces code duplication and ensures single source of truth for:
1. Roles-to-agents conversion logic (in yaml_parser.py)
2. Workflow templates (in workflow.py)
2025-12-17 11:16:51 +00:00
Mervin Praison 8b792424b6 feat: Extend agents.yaml with workflow patterns (Option D)
- Add workflow detection in agents_generator.py (process: workflow)
- Route to YAMLWorkflowParser when workflow mode detected
- Support both 'roles' and 'agents' keys for backward compatibility
- Map 'backstory' to 'instructions' automatically
- Add _convert_roles_to_agents method in YAMLWorkflowParser
- Add _run_yaml_workflow method in AgentsGenerator
- Add 7 new tests for roles-to-agents conversion
- Add extended agents.yaml example with all workflow patterns
- Update README with extended agents.yaml documentation

This allows users to use advanced workflow patterns (route, parallel,
loop, repeat) directly in agents.yaml while maintaining full backward
compatibility with existing agents.yaml files.

Usage:
praisonai agents.yaml # Works for both standard and workflow mode
2025-12-17 11:11:46 +00:00
Mervin Praison ef2a8cd658 feat(cli): Add YAML workflow CLI commands

- Add 'praisonai workflow run <file.yaml>' to run YAML workflows
- Add 'praisonai workflow validate <file.yaml>' to validate YAML workflows
- Add 'praisonai workflow template <name>' to create from templates
- Templates: simple, routing, parallel, loop, evaluator-optimizer
- Support --var key=value for passing variables
- Add unit tests for WorkflowHandler (8 tests)
- Update main.py to support YAML workflow execution

- test_runner.py: Add '-m not real' to exclude tests requiring API keys when running 'all' pattern
- test_cli_features.py: Fix test_session_get_actions to match actual SessionHandler.get_actions() implementation (list, show, resume, delete instead of start)
2025-12-17 08:33:24 +00:00
Mervin Praison 6168401a69 feat(docs): Simplify workflow documentation to focus on agent-first approach

Mervin Praison b552843fa9 docs: Update README workflow CLI with new features
- Add inline workflow examples (--workflow 'step1,step2')
- Add planning mode example (--planning)
- Add tools and save examples (--tools, --save)
- Update to use global flags instead of workflow-specific flags
2025-12-16 21:46:30 +00:00
Mervin Praison 0461a133df fix(workflow): Actually use planning mode when --planning is enabled
Before: --planning flag was stored but never used, agent.chat() was called
After: --planning flag creates agent with planning=True and calls agent.start()

The agent.start() method checks if planning is enabled and calls
_start_with_planning() which:
1. Creates a plan using PlanningAgent
2. Displays the generated plan
3. Executes each step with context passing
4. Compiles results into final output
2025-12-16 19:12:28 +00:00
Mervin Praison b33857de33 refactor(cli): Use global flags for workflow instead of workflow-specific flags
BREAKING CHANGE: Removed workflow-specific flags in favor of global flags

Before:
praisonai workflow run 'name' --workflow-tools tavily --workflow-save --workflow-verbose

After:
praisonai workflow run 'name' --tools tavily --save --verbose

This simplifies the CLI by reusing existing global flags:
- --llm (instead of --workflow-llm)
- --tools (instead of --workflow-tools)
- --planning (instead of --workflow-planning)
- --memory (instead of --workflow-memory)
- --save (instead of --workflow-save)

Fast Context with Agent - Basic Example
This is the simplest way to use Fast Context with an Agent.
Just set fast_context=True and the agent will automatically
have access to rapid code search capabilities.
Fast Context provides:
- 10-20x faster code search than traditional methods
- Parallel execution (8 concurrent searches)
- Automatic caching for repeated queries
- Seamless integration with Agent workflows
