Diana Picus 8a47810cd6 [CodeGen] Rename MachineInstrBuilder::addOperand. NFC
Rename from addOperand to just add, to match the other method that has been
added to MachineInstrBuilder for adding more than just 1 operand.

See https://reviews.llvm.org/D28057 for the whole discussion.

Mehdi Amini 3ffe113e11 Turn cl::values() (for enum) from a vararg function to using C++ variadic template
The core of the change is supposed to be NFC, however it also fixes
what I believe was an undefined behavior when calling:

 va_start(ValueArgs, Desc);

with Desc being a StringRef.

Matthias Braun 690a3cbc95 MachineFunctionProperties/MIRParser: Rename AllVRegsAllocated->NoVRegs, compute it
Rename AllVRegsAllocated to NoVRegs. This avoids the connotation of
running after register and simply describes that no vregs are used in
a machine function. With that we can simply compute the property and do
not need to dump/parse it in .mir files.

Justin Lebar b2d6ad7cfd [SelectionDAG] Get rid of bool parameters in SelectionDAG::getLoad, getStore, and friends.
Summary:
Instead, we take a single flags arg (a bitset).

Also add a default 0 alignment, and change the order of arguments so the
alignment comes before the flags.

This greatly simplifies many callsites, and fixes a bug in
AMDGPUISelLowering, wherein the order of the args to getLoad was
inverted. It also greatly simplifies the process of adding another flag
to getLoad.

Duncan P. N. Exon Smith a204da23db CodeGen: Use MachineInstr& in TargetLowering, NFC
This is a mechanical change to make TargetLowering API take MachineInstr&
(instead of MachineInstr*), since the argument is expected to be a valid
MachineInstr. In one case, changed a parameter from MachineInstr* to
MachineBasicBlock::iterator, since it was used as an insertion point.

As a side effect, this removes a bunch of MachineInstr* to
MachineBasicBlock::iterator implicit conversions, a necessary step
toward fixing PR26753.

Justin Bogner 9ed38db20e SDAG: Rename Select->SelectImpl and repurpose Select as returning void
This is a step towards removing the rampant undefined behaviour in
SelectionDAG, which is a part of llvm.org/PR26808.

We rename SelectionDAGISel::Select to SelectImpl and update targets to
match, and then change Select to return void and consolidate the
sketchy behaviour we're trying to get away from there.

Next, we'll update backends to implement `void Select(...)` instead of
SelectImpl and eventually drop the base Select implementation.

Craig Topper ca89139c6d Declare MVT::SimpleValueType as an int8_t sized enum. This removes 400 bytes from TargetLoweringBase and probably other places.
This required changing several places to print VT enums as strings instead of raw ints since the proper method to use to print became ambiguous. This is probably an improvement anyway.

This also appears to save ~8K from an x86 self host build of llc.

Hans Wennborg f864a32c13 Change eliminateCallFramePseudoInstr() to return an iterator
This will become necessary in a subsequent change to make this method
merge adjacent stack adjustments, i.e. it might erase the previous
and/or next instruction.

It also greatly simplifies the calls to this function from Prolog-
EpilogInserter. Previously, that had a bunch of logic to resume iteration
after the call; now it just continues with the returned iterator.

Note that this changes the behaviour of PEI a little. Previously,
it attempted to re-visit the new instruction created by
eliminateCallFramePseudoInstr(). That code was added in r36625,
but I can't see any reason for it: the new instructions will obviously
not be pseudo instructions, they will not have FrameIndex operands,
and we have already accounted for the stack adjustment.

Duncan P. N. Exon Smith 5b9b80ea30 CodeGen: TII: Take MachineInstr& in predicate API, NFC
Change TargetInstrInfo API to take `MachineInstr&` instead of
`MachineInstr*` in the functions related to predicated instructions
(I'll try to come back later and get some of the rest). All of these
functions require non-null parameters already, so references are more
clear. As a bonus, this happens to factor away a host of implicit
iterator => pointer conversions.

No functionality change intended.

Daniel Sanders 9781f90c7e Re-commit r247683: Replace Triple with a new TargetTuple in MCTargetDesc/* and related. NFC.
Summary:
This is the first patch in the series to migrate Triple's (which are ambiguous)
to TargetTuple's (which aren't).

For the moment, TargetTuple simply passes all requests to the Triple object it
holds. Once it has replaced Triple, it will start to implement the interface in
a more suitable way.

This change makes some changes to the public C++ API. In particular,
InitMCSubtargetInfo(), createMCRelocationInfo(), and createMCSymbolizer()
now take TargetTuples instead of Triples. The other public C++ API's have
been left as-is for the moment to reduce patch size.

This commit also contains a trivial patch to clang to account for the C++ API
change. Thanks go to Pavel Labath for fixing LLDB for me.

This removes the isPow2SDivCheap() query, as it is not currently used in

based on the type optimization level.

Alex Lorenz de0129ac08 PseudoSourceValue: Replace global manager with a manager in a machine function.
This commit removes the global manager variable which is responsible for
storing and allocating pseudo source values and instead it introduces a new
manager class named 'PseudoSourceValueManager'. Machine functions now own an
instance of the pseudo source value manager class.

This commit also modifies the 'get...' methods in the 'MachinePointerInfo'
class to construct pseudo source values using the instance of the pseudo
source value manager object from the machine function.

This commit updates calls to the 'get...' methods from the 'MachinePointerInfo'
class in a lot of different files because those calls now need to pass in a
reference to a machine function to those methods.

This change will make it easier to serialize pseudo source values as it will
enable me to transform the mips specific MipsCallEntry PseudoSourceValue
subclass into two target independent subclasses.

Nick Lewycky 6fc1adf9c7 Fix typo "fuction" noticed in comments in AssumptionCache.h, and also all the other files that have the same typo. All comments, no functionality change! (Merely a "fuctionality" change.)
Bonus change to remove emacs major mode marker from SystemZMachineFunctionInfo.cpp because emacs already knows it's C++ from the extension. Also fix typo "appeary" in AMDGPUMCAsmInfo.h.

Mehdi Amini 9c5961b7ba Move most user of TargetMachine::getDataLayout to the Module one
Summary:
This change is part of a series of commits dedicated to have a single
DataLayout during compilation by using always the one owned by the
module.

This patch is quite boring overall, except for some uglyness in
ASMPrinter which has a getDataLayout function but has some clients
that use it without a Module (llmv-dsymutil, llvm-dwarfdump), so
some methods are taking a DataLayout as parameter.

Duncan P. N. Exon Smith 16859aa242 MC: Remove MCSubtargetInfo() default constructor
Force all creators of `MCSubtargetInfo` to immediately initialize it,
merging the default constructor and the initializer into an initializing
constructor. Besides cleaning up the code a little, this makes it clear
that the initializer is never called again later.

Out-of-tree backends need a trivial change: instead of calling:

    auto *X = new MCSubtargetInfo();
    InitXYZMCSubtargetInfo(X, ...);
    return X;

they should call:

    return createXYZMCSubtargetInfoImpl(...);

There's no real functionality change here.

JF Bastien 99cb989593 Target RegisterInfo: devirtualize TargetFrameLowering
Summary:
The target frame lowering's concrete type is always known in RegisterInfo, yet it's only sometimes devirtualized through a static_cast. This change adds an auto-generated static function <Target>GenRegisterInfo::getFrameLowering(const MachineFunction &MF) which does this devirtualization, and uses this function in all targets which can.

This change was suggested by sunfish in D11070 for WebAssembly, I figure that I may as well improve the other targets while I'm here.
