57a8129407 Apply llvm-prefer-register-over-unsigned from clang-tidy to LLVM
Summary:
This clang-tidy check is looking for unsigned integer variables whose initializer
starts with an implicit cast from llvm::Register and changes the type of the
variable to llvm::Register (dropping the llvm:: where possible).

Partial reverts in:
X86FrameLowering.cpp - Some functions return unsigned and arguably should be MCRegister
X86FixupLEAs.cpp - Some functions return unsigned and arguably should be MCRegister
X86FrameLowering.cpp - Some functions return unsigned and arguably should be MCRegister
HexagonBitSimplify.cpp - Function takes BitTracker::RegisterRef which appears to be unsigned&
MachineVerifier.cpp - Ambiguous operator==() given MCRegister and const Register
PPCFastISel.cpp - No Register::operator-=()
PeepholeOptimizer.cpp - TargetInstrInfo::optimizeLoadInstr() takes an unsigned&
MachineTraceMetrics.cpp - MachineTraceMetrics lacks a suitable constructor

Manual fixups in:
ARMFastISel.cpp - ARMEmitLoad() now takes a Register& instead of unsigned&
HexagonSplitDouble.cpp - Ternary operator was ambiguous between unsigned/Register
HexagonConstExtenders.cpp - Has a local class named Register, used llvm::Register instead of Register.
PPCFastISel.cpp - PPCEmitLoad() now takes a Register& instead of unsigned&

Depends on D65919

f5e83e90b1 ScheduleDAG: Fix incorrectly killing registers in bundles
When looking for uses/defs to add kill flags, the iterator was double
incremented, skipping the first instruction in the bundle. The use
register in the first bundle instruction was then incorrectly killed.
The "First" instruction should be the BUNDLE itself as the proper
reverse iterator endpoint.

ef54162998 Allow target to handle STRICT floating-point nodes
The ISD::STRICT_ nodes used to implement the constrained floating-point
intrinsics are currently never passed to the target back-end, which makes
it impossible to handle them correctly (e.g. mark instructions are depending
on a floating-point status and control register, or mark instructions as
possibly trapping).

This patch allows the target to use setOperationAction to switch the action
on ISD::STRICT_ nodes to Legal. If this is done, the SelectionDAG common code
will stop converting the STRICT nodes to regular floating-point nodes, but
instead pass the STRICT nodes to the target using normal SelectionDAG
matching rules.

To avoid having the back-end duplicate all the floating-point instruction
patterns to handle both strict and non-strict variants, we make the MI
codegen explicitly aware of the floating-point exceptions by introducing
two new concepts:

- A new MCID flag "mayRaiseFPException" that the target should set on any
instruction that possibly can raise FP exception according to the
  architecture definition.
- A new MI flag FPExcept that CodeGen/SelectionDAG will set on any MI
instruction resulting from expansion of any constrained FP intrinsic.

Any MI instruction that is *both* marked as mayRaiseFPException *and*
FPExcept then needs to be considered as raising exceptions by MI-level
codegen (e.g. scheduling).

Setting those two new flags is straightforward. The mayRaiseFPException
flag is simply set via TableGen by marking all relevant instruction
patterns in the .td files.

The FPExcept flag is set in SDNodeFlags when creating the STRICT_ nodes
in the SelectionDAG, and gets inherited in the MachineSDNode nodes created
from it during instruction selection. The flag is then transfered to an
MIFlag when creating the MI from the MachineSDNode. This is handled just
like fast-math flags like no-nans are handled today.

This patch includes both common code changes required to implement the
new features, and the SystemZ implementation.

26283f4ee9 [ScheduleDAGInstrs] Compute topological ordering on demand.
In most cases, the topological ordering does not get changed in
ScheduleDAGInstrs. We can compute the ordering on demand, similar to
D60125.

This drastically cuts down the number of times we need to compute the
topological ordering, e.g. for SPEC2006, SPEC2k and MultiSource, we get
the following stats for -O3 -flto on X86 (showing the top reductions,
with small absolute values filtered). The smallest reduction is -50%.

Slightly positive impact on compile-time (-0.1 % geomean speedup for
test-suite + SPEC & co, with -O1 on X86)

edce282ba0 [CodeGen] Be as conservative about atomic accesses as for volatile
Background: At the moment, we record the AtomicOrdering of an access in the MMO, but also mark any atomic access as volatile in SelectionDAG. I'm working towards separating that. See https://reviews.llvm.org/D57601 for context.

Update all usages of isVolatile in lib/CodeGen to preserve behaviour once atomic MMOs stop being also volatile. This is NFC in it's current form, but is essential for correctness once we make that final change.

It useful to keep in mind that AtomicSDNode is not a parent of LoadSDNode, StoreSDNode, or LSBaseSDNode. As a result, any call to isVolatile on one of those static types doesn't need a companion isAtomic check. We should probably adjust that class hierarchy long term, but for now, that seperation is useful.

I'm deliberately being conservative about handling. I want the change to stop adding volatile to be NFC itself, and then will work through places where we can be less conservative for atomics one by one in separate changes w/tests.

6b547686c5 Update the file headers across all of the LLVM projects in the monorepo
to reflect the new license.

We understand that people may be surprised that we're moving the header
entirely to discuss the new license. We checked this carefully with the
Foundation's lawyer and we believe this is the correct approach.

Essentially, all code in the project is now made available by the LLVM
project under our new license, so you will see that the license headers
include that license only. Some of our contributors have contributed
code under our old license, and accordingly, we have retained a copy of
our old license notice in the top-level files in each project and
repository.

78f5683a63 [SchedModel] Fix for read advance cycles with implicit pseudo operands.
The SchedModel allows the addition of ReadAdvances to express that certain
operands of the instructions are needed at a later point than the others.

RegAlloc may add pseudo operands that are not part of the instruction
descriptor, and therefore cannot have any read advance entries. This meant
that in some cases the desired read advance was nullified by such a pseudo
operand, which still had the original latency.

This patch fixes this by making sure that such pseudo operands get a zero
latency during DAG construction.

b064c24e4a ScheduleDAG: Cleanup dumping code; NFC

`ScheduleDAG::dumpNode(ScheduleDAG*)`, just keep the latter around.
- Add `ScheduleDAG::dump()` and avoid code duplication in several

- Add `ScheduleDAG::dumpNodeName()` in favor of the `SUnit::print()`

function into ScheduleDAG is consistent with the `dumpNode()` change.

The DEBUG() macro is very generic so it might clash with other projects.
The renaming was done as follows:
- git grep -l 'DEBUG' | xargs sed -i 's/\bDEBUG\s\?(/LLVM_DEBUG(/g'
- git diff -U0 master | ../clang/tools/clang-format/clang-format-diff.py -i -p1 -style LLVM
- Manual change to APInt
- Manually chage DOCS as regex doesn't match it.

In the transition period the DEBUG() macro is still present and aliased
to the LLVM_DEBUG() one.

should not since DBG_VALUE is not mapped in LiveIntervals.

when DBG_VALUE is the last instruction of MBB, ScheduleDAGInstrs::buildSchedGraph and
ScheduleDAGMILive::scheduleMI does not move RPTracker properly, which causes assertion.

This patch fixes that.

0f48afc622 [ScheduleDAGInstrs] fix behavior of getUnderlyingObjectsForCodeGen when no identifiable object found
This patch fixes the bug introduced in https://reviews.llvm.org/D35907; the bug is reported by http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/llvm-commits/Week-of-Mon-20171002/491452.html.

Before D35907, when GetUnderlyingObjects fails to find an identifiable object, allMMOsOkay lambda in getUnderlyingObjectsForInstr returns false and Objects vector is cleared. This behavior is unintentionally changed by D35907.

This patch makes the behavior for such case same as the previous behavior.
Since D35907 introduced a wrapper function getUnderlyingObjectsForCodeGen around GetUnderlyingObjects, getUnderlyingObjectsForCodeGen is modified to return a boolean value to ask the caller to clear the Objects vector.

eeca49d1ac [StackColoring] Update AliasAnalysis information in stack coloring pass
Stack coloring pass need to maintain AliasAnalysis information when merging stack slots of different types.
Actually, there is a FIXME comment in StackColoring.cpp

// FIXME: In order to enable the use of TBAA when using AA in CodeGen,
// we'll also need to update the TBAA nodes in MMOs with values
// derived from the merged allocas.

But, TBAA has been already enabled in CodeGen without fixing this pass.
The incorrect TBAA metadata results in recent failures in bootstrap test on ppc64le (PR33928) by allowing unsafe instruction scheduling.
Although we observed the problem on ppc64le, this is a platform neutral issue.

This patch makes the stack coloring pass maintains AliasAnalysis information when merging multiple stack slots.

e3e43d9d57 Sort the remaining #include lines in include/... and lib/....
I did this a long time ago with a janky python script, but now
clang-format has built-in support for this. I fed clang-format every
line with a #include and let it re-sort things according to the precise
LLVM rules for include ordering baked into clang-format these days.

I've reverted a number of files where the results of sorting includes
isn't healthy. Either places where we have legacy code relying on
particular include ordering (where possible, I'll fix these separately)
or where we have particular formatting around #include lines that
I didn't want to disturb in this patch.

This patch is *entirely* mechanical. If you get merge conflicts or
anything, just ignore the changes in this patch and run clang-format
over your #include lines in the files.

Sorry for any noise here, but it is important to keep these things
stable. I was seeing an increasing number of patches with irrelevant
re-ordering of #include lines because clang-format was used. This patch
at least isolates that churn, makes it easy to skip when resolving
conflicts, and gets us to a clean baseline (again).
