4d8041c0e5 LoopDistribute/LAA: Respect convergent
This case is slightly tricky, because loop distribution should be
allowed in some cases, and not others. As long as runtime dependency
checks don't need to be introduced, this should be OK. This is further
complicated by the fact that LoopDistribute partially ignores if LAA
says that vectorization is safe, and then does its own runtime pointer
legality checks.

Note this pass still does not handle noduplicate correctly, as this
should always be forbidden with it. I'm not going to bother trying to
fix it, as it would require more effort and I think noduplicate should
be removed.

a80a3919ff Add "const" in GetUnderlyingObjects. NFC
Summary:
Both the input Value pointer and the returned Value
pointers in GetUnderlyingObjects are now declared as
const.

It turned out that all current (in-tree) uses of
GetUnderlyingObjects were trivial to update, being
satisfied with have those Value pointers declared
as const. Actually, in the past several of the users
had to use const_cast, just because of ValueTracking
not providing a version of GetUnderlyingObjects with
"const" Value pointers. With this patch we get rid
of those const casts.

6b547686c5 Update the file headers across all of the LLVM projects in the monorepo
to reflect the new license.

We understand that people may be surprised that we're moving the header
entirely to discuss the new license. We checked this carefully with the
Foundation's lawyer and we believe this is the correct approach.

Essentially, all code in the project is now made available by the LLVM
project under our new license, so you will see that the license headers
include that license only. Some of our contributors have contributed
code under our old license, and accordingly, we have retained a copy of
our old license notice in the top-level files in each project and
repository.

2e8e13e712 [LAA] Avoid generating RT checks for known deps preventing vectorization.
If we found unsafe dependences other than 'unknown', we already know at
compile time that they are unsafe and the runtime checks should always
fail. So we can avoid generating them in those cases.

This should have no negative impact on performance as the runtime checks
that would be created previously should always fail. As a sanity check,
I measured the test-suite, spec2k and spec2k6 and there were no regressions.

0048f91a87 [LV] Avoid vectorizing unsafe dependencies in uniform address
Summary:
Currently, when vectorizing stores to uniform addresses, the only
instance we prevent vectorization is if there are multiple stores to the
same uniform address causing an unsafe dependency.
This patch teaches LAA to avoid vectorizing loops that have an unsafe
cross-iteration dependency between a load and a store to the same uniform address.

ea46abe2cc Replace most users of UnknownSize with LocationSize::unknown(); NFC
Moving away from UnknownSize is part of the effort to migrate us to
LocationSizes (e.g. the cleanup promised in D44748).

This doesn't entirely remove all of the uses of UnknownSize; some uses
require tweaks to assume that UnknownSize isn't just some kind of int.
This patch is intended to just be a trivial replacement for all places
where LocationSize::unknown() will Just Work.

c6da6867a1 llvm: Add support for "-fno-delete-null-pointer-checks"
Summary:
Support for this option is needed for building Linux kernel.
This is a very frequently requested feature by kernel developers.

More details : https://lkml.org/lkml/2018/4/4/601

GCC option description for -fdelete-null-pointer-checks:
This Assume that programs cannot safely dereference null pointers,
and that no code or data element resides at address zero.

-fno-delete-null-pointer-checks is the inverse of this implying that
null pointer dereferencing is not undefined.

This feature is implemented in LLVM IR in this CL as the function attribute
"null-pointer-is-valid"="true" in IR (Under review at D47894).
The CL updates several passes that assumed null pointer dereferencing is
undefined to not optimize when the "null-pointer-is-valid"="true"
attribute is present.

The DEBUG() macro is very generic so it might clash with other projects.
The renaming was done as follows:
- git grep -l 'DEBUG' | xargs sed -i 's/\bDEBUG\s\?(/LLVM_DEBUG(/g'
- git diff -U0 master | ../clang/tools/clang-format/clang-format-diff.py -i -p1 -style LLVM
- Manual change to APInt
- Manually chage DOCS as regex doesn't match it.

In the transition period the DEBUG() macro is still present and aliased
to the LLVM_DEBUG() one.

8e229ec0e5 Adding a width of the GEP index to the Data Layout.
Making a width of GEP Index, which is used for address calculation, to be one of the pointer properties in the Data Layout.
p[address space]:size:memory_size:alignment:pref_alignment:index_size_in_bits.
The index size parameter is optional, if not specified, it is equal to the pointer size.

Till now, the InstCombiner normalized GEPs and extended the Index operand to the pointer width.
It works fine if you can convert pointer to integer for address calculation and all registered targets do this.
But some ISAs have very restricted instruction set for the pointer calculation. During discussions were desided to retrieve information for GEP index from the Data Layout.
http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/llvm-dev/2018-January/120416.html

I added an interface to the Data Layout and I changed the InstCombiner and some other passes to take the Index width into account.
This change does not affect any in-tree target. I added tests to cover data layouts with explicitly specified index size.

0acc54b75c [SLP] Vectorize jumbled memory loads.
Summary:
This patch tries to vectorize loads of consecutive memory accesses, accessed
in non-consecutive or jumbled way. An earlier attempt was made with patch D26905
which was reverted back due to some basic issue with representing the 'use mask' of
jumbled accesses.

This patch fixes the mask representation by recording the 'use mask' in the usertree entry.

dde48e1948 [LV] Fix maximum legal VF calculation
This patch fixes pr34283, which exposed that the computation of
maximum legal width for vectorization was wrong, because it relied
on MaxInterleaveFactor to obtain the maximum stride used in the loop,
however not all strided accesses in the loop have an interleave-group
associated with them.
Instead of recording the maximum stride in the loop, which can be over
conservative (e.g. if the access with the maximum stride is not involved
in the dependence limitation), this patch tracks the actual maximum legal
width imposed by accesses that are involved in dependencies.

1ece28eb77 [LAA] Allow more run-time alias checks by coercing pointer expressions to AddRecExprs
Summary:
LAA can only emit run-time alias checks for pointers with affine AddRec
SCEV expressions. However, non-AddRecExprs can be now be converted to
affine AddRecExprs using SCEV predicates.

This change tries to add the minimal set of SCEV predicates in order
to enable run-time alias checking.

3a168569fc [LAA] Correctly return a half-open range in expandBounds
This is a latent bug that's been hanging around for a while. For a loop-invariant
pointer, expandBounds would return the range {Ptr, Ptr}, but this was interpreted
as a half-open range, not a closed range. So we ended up planting incorrect
bounds checks. Even worse, they were tautological, so we ended up incorrectly
executing the optimized loop.

70d8785561 [SLP] Revert everything that has to do with memory access sorting.
This reverts r293386, r294027, r294029 and r296411.

Turns out the SLP tree isn't actually a "tree" and we don't handle
accessing the same packet of loads in several different orders well,
causing miscompiles.

Revert until we can fix this properly.

48b84df15d [SLP] Fixes the bug due to absence of in order uses of scalars which needs to be available
for VectorizeTree() API.This API uses it for proper mask computation to be used in shufflevector IR.
The fix is to compute the mask for out of order memory accesses while building the vectorizable tree
instead of actual vectorization of vectorizable tree.It also needs to recompute the proper Lane for
external use of vectorizable scalars based on shuffle mask.

7078fa3567 [LV/LoopAccess] Check statically if an unknown dependence distance can be
proven larger than the loop-count

This fixes PR31098: Try to resolve statically data-dependences whose
compile-time-unknown distance can be proven larger than the loop-count,
instead of resorting to runtime dependence checking (which are not always
possible).

For vectorization it is sufficient to prove that the dependence distance
is >= VF; But in some cases we can prune unknown dependence distances early,
and even before selecting the VF, and without a runtime test, by comparing
the distance against the loop iteration count. Since the vectorized code
will be executed only if LoopCount >= VF, proving distance >= LoopCount
also guarantees that distance >= VF. This check is also equivalent to the
Strong SIV Test.
