cookbook: overhaul agent quickstart for Gemini 3.6 Flash (#9136)

## Summary

Overhauls `cookbook/00_quickstart` into a coherent capability ladder:
build one useful agent, add context and learning, introduce safety and
human approval, then scale to teams, workflows, and AgentOS.

- Upgrades every active quickstart model to the stable
`gemini-3.6-flash` ID.
- Repositions the README around **Build an Agent That Can Act, Remember,
and Improve**, with a minimal first success and clear Core → Context →
Trust → Scale → Ship progression.
- Replaces the hand-built self-learning demo with the canonical
`LearningMachine` and shared learned knowledge.
- Fixes misleading guardrail status handling, structured-output truth
claims, optional-value handling, and cross-session memory behavior.
- Gives each stateful example isolated SQLite/Chroma storage and stable
session IDs.
- Makes knowledge deterministic with a versioned local fixture.
- Reworks human approval to verify both approve and reject paths.
- Narrows tool exposure, refreshes AgentOS prompts/registration, and
regenerates a lean Agno 2.8 dependency lock.
- Adds a repeatable live test plan and preserves the historical Gemini
3.5 verification record.

This makes the folder useful as both a newcomer journey and a set of
standalone, copyable agent patterns.

## Additional Notes

Validation completed against Agno `2.8.0`, `google-genai==2.14.0`, and
Gemini 3.6 Flash:

- 12/12 quickstart cookbooks passed live behavioral checks.
- AgentOS passed with 10 agents, 1 team, and 1 workflow; `/health` and
`/config` returned successfully.
- Approval/rejection, guardrail failure paths, cross-session memory, and
process-restart persistence passed.
- Focused unit suite: 82 passed, 1 skipped.
- `./scripts/format.sh`, `./scripts/validate.sh`, `compileall`, cookbook
pattern checks, and `git diff --check` passed.
- An independent final diff review found no remaining correctness
issues.

The global Gemini framework default is intentionally unchanged; this PR
only updates the quickstart folder. Historical Gemini 3.5 results remain
in `TEST_LOG.md` under a clearly labeled historical section.

Prepared with Codex under user direction and validated with live model
calls plus repository gates.

# The Agent Quickstart: 12 Guided Cookbooks
# Build an Agent That Can Act, Remember, and Improve
Learn how to build agents with 12 guided cookbooks. We'll go from single tool-using agent to multi-agent teams and step-based workflows through clean, runnable examples.
Start with one useful Gemini-powered agent. Add typed outputs, sessions,
memory, state, knowledge, learning, safety, teams, and workflows. Then launch
the whole system in AgentOS.
Each example can be run independently and contains detailed comments to help you understand what's happening under the hood. We'll use Gemini 3.5 Flash — fast, affordable, and excellent at tool calling but you can swap in any model with a one line change.
**One API key. No Docker. Every example runs independently.**
## What You'll Build
This is a capability ladder, not a collection of unrelated demos. Each file
upgrades the same market-research partner and ends with something you can
inspect: a tool call, typed object, stored session, recalled memory, state
change, knowledge result, learning, blocked request, approval, team response,
or workflow output.
| # | File | What You'll Learn | Key Features |
|:--|:---------|:------------------|:-------------|
| 01 | `agent_with_tools.py` | Give an agent tools to fetch real-time data | Tool Calling, Data Fetching |
| 02 | `agent_with_structured_output.py` | Return typed Pydantic objects | Structured Output, Type Safety |
| 03 | `agent_with_typed_input_output.py` | Full type safety on input and output | Input Schema, Output Schema |
| 04 | `agent_with_storage.py` | Persist conversations across runs | Persistent Storage, Session Management |
| 05 | `agent_with_memory.py` | Remember user preferences across sessions | Memory Manager, Personalization |
| 06 | `agent_with_state_management.py` | Track, modify, and persist structured state | Session State, State Management |
| 07 | `agent_search_over_knowledge.py` | Load documents into a knowledge base and search with hybrid search | Chunking, Embedding, Hybrid Search, Agentic Retrieval |
| 08 | `custom_tool_for_self_learning.py` | How to write your own tools and add self-learning capabilities | Custom Tools, Self-Learning |
| 09 | `agent_with_guardrails.py` | Add input validation and safety checks | Guardrails, PII Detection, Prompt Injection |
| 10 | `human_in_the_loop.py` | Require user confirmation before executing tools | Human in the Loop, Tool Confirmation |
| 11 | `multi_agent_team.py` | Coordinate multiple agents by organizing them into a team | Multi-Agent Team, Dynamic Collaboration |
| 12 | `sequential_workflow.py` | Sequentially execute agents/teams/functions | Agentic Workflow, Pipelines |
## Start Here
## Key Concepts
From the repository root:
| Concept | What It Does | When to Use |
|:--------|:-------------|:------------|
| **Tools** | Let agents take actions | Fetch data, call APIs, run code |
| **Storage** | Persist conversation history | Multi-turn conversations and state management |
| **Knowledge** | Searchable document store | RAG, documentation Q&A |
| **Memory** | Remember user preferences | Personalization |
| **State** | Structured data the agent manages | Tracking progress, managing lists |
| **Teams** | Multiple agents collaborating | Dynamic collaboration of specialized agents |
| **Workflows** | Sequential agent pipelines | Predictable multi-step processes and data flow |
| **Guardrails** | Validate and filter input | Block PII, prevent prompt injection |
| **Human in the Loop** | Require confirmation for actions | Sensitive operations, safety-critical tools |
## Getting Started
### 1. Clone the repo
```bash
git clone https://github.com/agno-agi/agno.git
cd agno
```
### 2. Create and activate a virtual environment
```bash
uv venv .venvs/quickstart --python 3.12
source .venvs/quickstart/bin/activate
```
### 3. Install dependencies
```bash
uv pip install -r cookbook/00_quickstart/requirements.txt
```
### 4. Set your API key
```bash
export GOOGLE_API_KEY=your-google-api-key
```
### 5. Run any cookbook
```bash
python cookbook/00_quickstart/agent_with_tools.py
```
**That's it.** No Docker, no Postgres — just Python and an API key.
The first example is the complete minimum:
## Run via Agent OS
```python
from agno.agent import Agent
from agno.models.google import Gemini
from agno.tools.yfinance import YFinanceTools
Agent OS provides a web interface for interacting with your agents. Start the server:
agent = Agent(
model=Gemini(id="gemini-3.6-flash"),
tools=[YFinanceTools()],
)
agent.print_response("What's AAPL's current price?", stream=True)
```
Gemini 3.6 Flash is the stable default for this quickstart. It supports the
tool calling, structured output, and multi-step agent work used throughout
the folder. See the [official model page](https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/docs/models/gemini-3.6-flash).
## The Capability Ladder
Follow the files in order for the full journey, or jump directly to the
capability you need. Every example is standalone.
### 1. Core — Make the Agent Useful
| # | Cookbook | What You Add | Proof |
|---:|:---------|:-------------|:------|
| 01 | [`agent_with_tools.py`](agent_with_tools.py) | Live tools | The agent chooses and calls Yahoo Finance tools |
| 02 | [`agent_with_structured_output.py`](agent_with_structured_output.py) | Typed output | The run returns a validated Pydantic object |
| 03 | [`agent_with_typed_input_output.py`](agent_with_typed_input_output.py) | Input and output contracts | Both sides of the agent boundary are validated |
### 2. Context — Make It Durable
| # | Cookbook | What You Add | Proof |
|---:|:---------|:-------------|:------|
| 04 | [`agent_with_storage.py`](agent_with_storage.py) | Conversation storage | A fixed session continues across runs |
| 05 | [`agent_with_memory.py`](agent_with_memory.py) | User memory | Preferences survive across sessions |
| 06 | [`agent_with_state_management.py`](agent_with_state_management.py) | Structured state | The agent updates and restores a watchlist |
| 07 | [`agent_search_over_knowledge.py`](agent_search_over_knowledge.py) | Searchable knowledge | The answer is grounded in a versioned local Agno overview |
| 08 | [`agent_with_learning.py`](agent_with_learning.py) | Shared learned knowledge | One user teaches a rule another user can reuse |
### 3. Trust — Keep the Human in Control
| # | Cookbook | What You Add | Proof |
|---:|:---------|:-------------|:------|
| 09 | [`agent_with_guardrails.py`](agent_with_guardrails.py) | Built-in and custom guardrails | PII, injection, and spam inputs end with `RunStatus.error` |
| 10 | [`human_in_the_loop.py`](human_in_the_loop.py) | Approval gates | The run pauses before a simulated publish action |
### 4. Scale — Move Beyond One Agent
| # | Cookbook | What You Add | Proof |
|---:|:---------|:-------------|:------|
| 11 | [`multi_agent_team.py`](multi_agent_team.py) | Dynamic collaboration | Bull and bear researchers are coordinated by a leader |
| 12 | [`sequential_workflow.py`](sequential_workflow.py) | Explicit orchestration | Gather, analyze, and write steps run in order |
### 5. Ship — Run the Complete System
[`run.py`](run.py) registers every agent, the team, and the workflow in one
AgentOS runtime. [`config.yaml`](config.yaml) adds ready-to-run prompts for the
AgentOS chat interface.
## The Mental Model
These concepts sound similar until you ask what each one owns:
| Concept | What It Owns | Use It For |
|:--------|:-------------|:-----------|
| **Tools** | Actions the model can choose | APIs, search, code, database operations |
| **Structured output** | The response contract | Pipelines, APIs, UIs, reliable parsing |
| **Storage** | The conversation record | Continue the same thread later |
| **Memory** | Durable facts about a user | Preferences and personalization |
| **State** | Mutable structured data | Lists, counters, carts, task progress |
| **Knowledge** | Information the agent can search | Docs, policies, product data, RAG |
| **Learning** | Reusable lessons from prior work | Shared heuristics and better future behavior |
| **Guardrails** | Input and output boundaries | Privacy, policy, and validation |
| **Human in the loop** | Approval for a pending action | Publishing, writes, payments, deployments |
| **Team** | Dynamic delegation between agents | Multiple perspectives or specialists |
| **Workflow** | Explicit execution order | Repeatable multi-step processes |
Start with one agent. Add a team only when independent specialists improve the
answer. Add a workflow when the order of operations must be predictable.
## Run the Complete System in AgentOS
Load the local Agno overview used by the knowledge agent once:
```bash
python cookbook/00_quickstart/agent_search_over_knowledge.py
```
Start AgentOS:
```bash
python cookbook/00_quickstart/run.py
```
Then visit [os.agno.com](https://os.agno.com?utm_source=github&utm_medium=example-repo&utm_campaign=ab-examples-data-labeling&utm_term=data-labeling&utm_content=agentos) and add `http://localhost:7777` as an endpoint.
Here's how it looks in action — chat with your agents, explore sessions, monitor traces, manage knowledge and memories, all through a beautiful visual UI.
Open [os.agno.com](https://os.agno.com), add
`http://localhost:7777` as an endpoint, and choose any quickstart agent, team,
or workflow. You can chat, inspect sessions, view traces, and explore memory
and knowledge from the same interface.

> [!TIP]
> To run the agent-with-knowledge, remember to load the knowledge base first using:
> ```bash
> python cookbook/00_quickstart/agent_search_over_knowledge.py
> ```
## Why Market Research?
## Swap Models Anytime
The scenario makes agent behavior visible: facts change, tools matter,
comparisons benefit from structure, and opposing researchers have a real
reason to collaborate. Yahoo Finance also works without a second API key.
Agno is model-agnostic. Same code, different provider:
The examples teach agent architecture, not investment advice. Replace the
tools and instructions with your own domain while keeping the same patterns.
## Swap Models
Each file declares its own model so it stays copy-pasteable:
```python
# Gemini (default in these examples)
from agno.models.google import Gemini
model = Gemini(id="gemini-3.5-flash")
# OpenAI
from agno.models.openai import OpenAIResponses
model = OpenAIResponses(id="gpt-5.2")
# Anthropic
from agno.models.anthropic import Claude
model = Claude(id="claude-sonnet-4-5")
model = Gemini(id="gemini-3.6-flash")
```
## Run Cookbooks Individually
Replace that model in the example you are using. The memory example also has a
dedicated memory model, while the knowledge and learning examples use
`GeminiEmbedder`; those components can be configured independently.
Browse [`cookbook/90_models/`](../90_models) for other providers and
provider-specific capabilities.
## Local State
Persistent examples write only to `tmp/quickstart/`, with a separate SQLite
database or Chroma collection per capability. This keeps examples independent
and prevents one run from contaminating another. Delete that directory when
you want a completely fresh start.
## Verify the Folder
Check the cookbook structure and compile every file:
```bash
# 01 - Tools: Fetch real market data
python cookbook/00_quickstart/agent_with_tools.py
# 02 - Structured Output: Get typed responses
python cookbook/00_quickstart/agent_with_structured_output.py
# 03 - Typed I/O: Full type safety
python cookbook/00_quickstart/agent_with_typed_input_output.py
# 04 - Storage: Remember conversations
python cookbook/00_quickstart/agent_with_storage.py
# 05 - Memory: Remember user preferences
python cookbook/00_quickstart/agent_with_memory.py
# 06 - State: Manage watchlists
python cookbook/00_quickstart/agent_with_state_management.py
# 07 - Knowledge: Search your documents
python cookbook/00_quickstart/agent_search_over_knowledge.py
# 08 - Custom Tools: Write your own
python cookbook/00_quickstart/custom_tool_for_self_learning.py
# 09 - Guardrails: Input validation and safety
python cookbook/00_quickstart/agent_with_guardrails.py
# 10 - Human in the Loop: Confirm before executing
python cookbook/00_quickstart/human_in_the_loop.py
# 11 - Teams: Bull vs Bear analysis
python cookbook/00_quickstart/multi_agent_team.py
# 12 - Workflows: Research pipeline
python cookbook/00_quickstart/sequential_workflow.py
python3 cookbook/scripts/check_cookbook_pattern.py \
--base-dir cookbook/00_quickstart
python -m compileall -q cookbook/00_quickstart
```
## Async Patterns
Use [`TEST_PROMPT.md`](TEST_PROMPT.md) for the live behavioral test plan and
[`TEST_LOG.md`](TEST_LOG.md) for the latest verified results.
All examples in this Quick Start use synchronous code for simplicity. For async/await patterns (recommended for production), see `cookbook/02_agents/` which includes async variants of most features.

# Test Log: cookbook/00_quickstart
## Latest Verification — 2026-07-23
**Environment:** `.venvs/quickstart/bin/python` (Python 3.12.8)
**Agno:** `2.8.0` from the regenerated quickstart lock
**Base Commit:** `1e03b4ef3` plus the uncommitted quickstart overhaul
**Model:** `gemini-3.6-flash`
**Google SDK:** `google-genai==2.14.0`
**Pre-flight:** Cookbook pattern checker passed 13 runnable files with zero
violations. Ruff format/check, `compileall`, and `git diff --check` passed.
Live tests used separate state under `tmp/quickstart/`.
---
### agent_with_tools.py
**Status:** PASS
**Description:** First-agent path with a least-privilege Yahoo Finance toolkit.
**Result:** Gemini called the 4 enabled tools needed for the brief and returned
a concise, timestamped market summary. No disabled YFinance tools were exposed.
---
### agent_with_structured_output.py
**Status:** PASS
**Description:** Typed `StockAnalysis` output with optional unavailable market
fields, numeric bounds, and a `Literal` recommendation.
**Result:** The run returned a valid `StockAnalysis`. Optional values,
non-negative price constraints, ticker format, and the closed recommendation
set all validated.
---
### agent_with_typed_input_output.py
**Status:** PASS
**Description:** End-to-end input and output validation.
**Result:** Dict and Pydantic inputs both returned typed output. A malformed JSON
string and invalid ticker (`!!!`) were rejected before a model call.
---
### agent_with_storage.py
**Status:** PASS
**Description:** Fixed-session conversation continuity in an isolated SQLite
database.
**Result:** Three turns shared prior context. A new Python process restored the
same session and found 8 stored chat messages.
---
### agent_with_memory.py
**Status:** PASS
**Description:** User-level memory for interests and risk tolerance across
distinct sessions.
**Result:** Gemini stored two durable memories (AI/semiconductor interest and
moderate risk tolerance). A different explicit session started with zero chat
history, retrieved both memories, and used them to tailor its response.
---
### agent_with_state_management.py
**Status:** PASS
**Description:** Tool-managed watchlist state with a stable session ID.
**Result:** The tools added NVDA, AAPL, and GOOGL; the price tool ran for all
three. A separate Python process restored
`{"watchlist": ["NVDA", "AAPL", "GOOGL"]}` from SQLite.
---
### agent_search_over_knowledge.py
**Status:** PASS
**Description:** Hybrid search over the versioned local Agno overview.
**Result:** The file indexed successfully, the agent called
`search_knowledge_base`, and the answer stayed within the retrieved source,
including the current Gemini 3.6 example.
---
### agent_with_learning.py
**Status:** PASS
**Description:** Canonical `LearningMachine` learned knowledge across users.
**Result:** The teaching run saved the rule separating cyclical inventory
changes from structural demand. A different user triggered `search_learnings`
and applied that rule in an NVDA/AMD comparison.
---
### agent_with_guardrails.py
**Status:** PASS
**Description:** Built-in PII and injection checks plus a custom spam guardrail.
**Result:** Normal input completed. PII, prompt injection, and spam each returned
`RunStatus.error` and printed `[BLOCKED]`; no blocked request was mislabeled
`[OK]`.
---
### human_in_the_loop.py
**Status:** PASS
**Description:** Confirmation gate around a simulated publish action.
**Result:** The run paused with one pending `publish_research_brief` call.
Approval executed the tool and reported publication. A separate rejection run
explicitly reported that publication was not finalized.
---
### multi_agent_team.py
**Status:** PASS
**Description:** Bull and bear analysts coordinated by a team leader.
**Result:** Both members ran, the leader surfaced their disagreement and
synthesized the evidence, and the follow-up comparison reused team context.
---
### sequential_workflow.py
**Status:** PASS
**Description:** Explicit Data Gathering → Analysis → Report Writing pipeline.
**Result:** All three steps completed in order. The analyst flagged missing
comparison data, and the writer produced a concise research outlook. End-to-end
runtime was approximately 30 seconds.
---
### AgentOS
**Status:** PASS
**Description:** Full quickstart registry and live HTTP server.
**Result:** Uvicorn started cleanly. `/health` returned `200` with status `ok`;
`/config` returned 10 agents, 1 team, and 1 workflow. All 12 quick-prompt IDs
resolved to registered components. Stable database IDs eliminated registry
shadowing warnings.

# Quickstart Live Test Plan
Use this plan when the model, Agno version, dependencies, or quickstart code
changes. Record the result in `TEST_LOG.md`; do not replace historical runs.
## Test Contract
Run live examples from the repository root against the quickstart environment:
```bash
source .venvs/quickstart/bin/activate
export GOOGLE_API_KEY=your-google-api-key
```
Record:
- Date and timezone
- Git commit
- Python version
- Installed Agno version
- Model ID
- Whether `tmp/quickstart/` started empty
Do not use transient stock prices as the pass condition. Verify behavior and
artifacts instead.
## Preflight
Use the repository development environment for static checks:
```bash
.venv/bin/python cookbook/scripts/check_cookbook_pattern.py \
--base-dir cookbook/00_quickstart
.venv/bin/python -m compileall -q cookbook/00_quickstart
.venv/bin/ruff check cookbook/00_quickstart
```
Expected: all commands exit `0`.
## Live Matrix
| Cookbook | Acceptance Condition |
|:---------|:---------------------|
| `agent_with_tools.py` | Gemini calls at least one enabled Yahoo Finance tool and returns a concise brief |
| `agent_with_structured_output.py` | `response.content` is `StockAnalysis`; enum and numeric constraints validate |
| `agent_with_typed_input_output.py` | Dict and Pydantic inputs both work; invalid input fails before a model call |
| `agent_with_storage.py` | A fixed session connects the follow-up to prior context; rerunning the process restores it |
| `agent_with_memory.py` | A durable preference is stored and recalled for the same `user_id` in a different explicit session |
| `agent_with_state_management.py` | Tools update the watchlist; the fixed session restores it after a process restart |
| `agent_search_over_knowledge.py` | The document loads, the knowledge-search tool runs, and the answer is grounded in retrieved content |
| `agent_with_learning.py` | The teaching run saves learned knowledge; a different user receives the reusable rule |
| `agent_with_guardrails.py` | Normal input completes; PII, injection, and spam return `RunStatus.error` without a model call |
| `human_in_the_loop.py` | The run pauses on `publish_research_brief`; approval executes it; rejection does not |
| `multi_agent_team.py` | Both members run and the leader synthesizes their disagreement |
| `sequential_workflow.py` | Data Gathering, Analysis, and Report Writing complete in order |
Run live examples individually. `human_in_the_loop.py` is interactive and
`run.py` starts a server, so neither belongs in an unattended folder runner.
## Failure Paths
Test these explicitly:
1. Run `agent_with_guardrails.py` and confirm blocked inputs are labeled
`[BLOCKED]`, never `[OK]`.
2. Run `human_in_the_loop.py` once with `y` and once with `n`.
3. Pass malformed JSON and an invalid ticker to the typed-input agent; both
must fail validation before Gemini is called.
4. Stop and restart the storage and state scripts; use the same session IDs and
confirm the persisted data is restored.
## AgentOS
Start the runtime:
```bash
python cookbook/00_quickstart/run.py
```
In another terminal:
```bash
curl -fsS http://localhost:7777/health
curl -fsS http://localhost:7777/config
```
Expected:
- `/health` returns status `ok`
- `/config` lists 10 agents, 1 team, and 1 workflow
- Every ID in `config.yaml` resolves to a registered component
- A normal agent run succeeds through the API
- The human-approval agent surfaces a pending confirmation
## Final Gates
```bash
.venv/bin/ruff format --check cookbook/00_quickstart
.venv/bin/ruff check cookbook/00_quickstart
git diff --check
```
Update `TEST_LOG.md` with behavioral evidence, known limitations, and any
failure that required a retry.

Custom Tool for Self-Learning - Write Your Own Tools
=====================================================
This example shows how to write custom tools for your agent.
A tool is just a Python function — the agent calls it when needed.
We'll build a self-learning agent that can save insights to a knowledge base.
The key concept: any function can become a tool.
Key concepts:
- Tools are Python functions with docstrings (the docstring tells the agent what the tool does)
- The agent decides when to call your tool based on the conversation
- Return a string to communicate results back to the agent
Example prompts to try:
- "What's a good P/E ratio for tech stocks? Save that insight."
- "Remember that NVDA's data center revenue is the key growth driver"
- "What learnings do we have saved?"

# Agno Overview
Agno is a framework and runtime for building, running, and managing agent
platforms.
## The Stack
- **Agno SDK**: Define agents, teams, workflows, tools, knowledge, memory, and
learning in Python.
- **AgentOS runtime**: Serve those components through production APIs with
sessions, streaming, tracing, and human approval.
- **AgentOS UI**: Connect to an AgentOS endpoint to chat with components and
inspect sessions, traces, knowledge, memory, and learning.
Agno is model-agnostic. An agent combines a model with instructions, tools, and
optional context such as knowledge or memory.
## Minimal Tool-Using Agent
```python
from agno.agent import Agent
from agno.models.google import Gemini
from agno.tools.yfinance import YFinanceTools
agent = Agent(
model=Gemini(id="gemini-3.6-flash"),
tools=[YFinanceTools()],
)
agent.print_response("What's AAPL's current price?", stream=True)
```
## Choosing a Building Block
- Start with an **Agent** for one coherent job.
- Use a **Team** when independent specialists or perspectives improve the
result enough to justify extra latency and cost.
- Use a **Workflow** when steps must execute in an explicit, repeatable order.
- Use **AgentOS** to run and inspect the complete system.
## Data Ownership
Agno applications can keep sessions, memory, knowledge, and traces in databases
the application owner controls. Production deployments should use appropriate
authentication, authorization, tenant isolation, and durable storage.

Human in the Loop - Confirm Before Taking Action
================================================
This example shows how to require user confirmation before executing
certain tools. Critical for actions that are irreversible or sensitive.
Human in the Loop - Approve Before the Agent Acts
==================================================
This example pauses an agent before it executes a tool that has an external
effect. The user can inspect the exact tool call, approve it, or reject it.
We'll build on our self-learning agent, and ask for user confirmation before saving a learning.
The demo uses a simulated publishing tool, so it does not contact an external
service. The confirmation pattern is the same for email, payments, database
writes, deployments, or any other sensitive action.
Key concepts:
- @tool(requires_confirmation=True): Mark tools that need approval
- run_response.active_requirements: Check for pending confirmations
- requirement.confirm() / requirement.reject(): Approve or deny
- agent.continue_run(): Resume execution after decision
Some practical applications:
- Confirming sensitive operations before execution
- Reviewing API calls before they're made
- Validating data transformations
- Approving automated actions in critical systems
- @tool(requires_confirmation=True): Mark an action that needs approval
- active_requirements: Inspect what the run is waiting for
- confirm() / reject(): Record the user's decision
- continue_run(): Resume the same run after the decision
Example prompts to try:
- "What's a good P/E ratio for tech stocks? Save that insight."
- "Analyze NVDA and save any insights"
- "What learnings do we have saved?"
- "Research NVDA and publish a three-bullet brief"
- "Draft an AMD comparison, but ask before publishing it"
