Issue

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3b0NIK6Lek

After some length of time, GPT-5 on OpenRouter always stops with no message/error/warning abruptly. This is 100% reproducible for me. Is this an issue only for me, or is this an issue for all models on OpenRouter? I'm not sure.

This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:

  • #1710: Flow just stops when using openrouter models (similar behavior with OpenRouter models stopping after tool calls)
  • #1329: OpenRouter/Kimi K2 just stops working (similar abrupt stopping behavior with OpenRouter models)
  • #1522: Qwen3 as well as Kimi K2 keep stopping mid-chat (similar mid-conversation stopping with OpenRouter models)

Feel free to ignore if none of these address your specific case.

to me this just looks like a model problem, sometimes they just stop

could also be the openrouter provider you are being routed to, maybe they aren't hosting the model correctly

I'm facing the same issue with openrouter model, they stop after each tool call

@Halpph what model? A lot of openrouter providers incorrectly or poorly host models and can lead to degraded behavior like that

not saying that's 100% the issue but generally is

@rekram1-node today it happened with google/gemini-2.0-flash-exp:free from google-vertex,
z-ai/glm-4.5-air:free by Z.AI or Chutes,
mistralai/mistral-small-3.2-24b-instruct:free by Chutes

Ah yeah if you are using free models then no surprise at all. That's just external provider issues, not opencode

@rekram1-node It happened as well with Deepseek V3, when I realised I was paying for nothing I switched to free models...
