The official MCP Registry (https://github.com/modelcontextprotocol/registry/tree/main) provides a centralized way to discover and manage MCP servers. Integrating this would allow OpenCode users to easily browse and install available MCP servers from both public and private registries, improving the ecosystem and user experience.

Benefits:

  • Easier discovery of MCP servers without manual configuration
  • Support for private registries for enterprise use
  • Standardized way to share and distribute MCP servers
  • Reduces friction in setting up new tools and integrations

This would enhance OpenCode's MCP capabilities by making server management more user-friendly and scalable.
