Description

After successfully asking a question about the codebase and requesting an implementation plan, I executed the /compact command. Consequently, the agent commenced implementing the plan. However, this behavior commenced today with this version. I anticipated the agent to output a summary and terminate as previously.

OpenCode version

v1.0.85

Steps to reproduce

  1. back and forth session (plan or build agents)
  2. run /compact

Operating System

macOS 26.1

Terminal

is there a way to fix this? can the compact instructions be modified? in previous versions, it would just compact the session and then it would automatically just stop, it never went on to continue doing stuff i didn't ask for. how do i prevent it from going off and doing a bunch of stuff automatically after compact? I tried /compact THEN STOP but it didn't actually compact the session.

@omarzina should be fixed: https://github.com/sst/opencode/commit/020ee56f25b58103a787d1c96b326e31b495ad06

Any release 1.0.113 or later should be fixed

Not sure how the release publishing flow works, but via homebrew, I'm still stuck with v1.0.107. Will keep frantically checking anyway, thank you!

@omarzina you can switch to sst/opencode/tap if you want same day releases otherwise the homebrew releases that they maintain for opencode are on a delay
