Question

For macOS users who installed OpenCode via Homebrew, how can I set it up to require my approval before writing any file? I want to verify before writing to prevent the AI from making unwanted modifications.

This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:

  • #8832: opencode not respecting permissions - Issue with permissions configuration not being honored
  • #5076: OpenCode should have better/safer defaults to be more security minded - Discussion on requiring approval by default for file writes
  • #5963: Enabling dynamically changing agents and permissions while running prompt - Related feature for dynamic permission control
  • #6318: Limit tool (e.g. write, edit) permissions to specific folders - Discussion on granular permission control for write/edit tools
  • #4881: Setting global permissions for custom tool - Feature request for global permission settings

Feel free to ignore if none of these address your specific case.
