Description

So often there's a crash, API stall, or many reasons to just stop the inference right away,

How can we just RESEND the same prompt that got stuck?

Image

Have to click copy the same prompt, a few times, it's taking spaces and it's not clear how it could be affecting my context.

How can there be no way to just go back and ignore last few prompts?

/rewind /undo /fork? There should be a button to get back there.

This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:

  • #7794: [FEATURE]:rewind function in opencode
  • #9978: [FEATURE]:Add a rollback function to prevent the inability to roll back when AI makes incorrect changes
  • #8589: [FEATURE]:Allow questions (or any user choice or input) to be valid fork/undo points
  • #9661: Desktop/Web: Missing Revert and Fork actions for messages
  • #8197: [FEATURE]:Add retry / re-run capability when operation is aborted
  • #310: Retry w/ different model

Feel free to ignore if none of these address your specific case.

In my Desktop app, if I press up arrow, I see the previous prompt.

IMO this is annoying because it conflicts with the up/down multiline text box navigation keys. I suggest cycling through prompts with a modifier key + up/down.

What you're describing is our other IDR are doing it too, like cursor. What
I have most problem with is that up doesn't clear the previous ones. It
just keeps adding to the context. There's no way to roll back an error to
clear it out from the context.
