Christina Sørensen 1b9151491c feat: add --short-nix to abbreviate Nix store hashes 
A path component starting with a Nix store hash — exactly 32
characters of Nix's base32 alphabet followed by a dash — is
displayed with the hash shortened to its first 8 characters plus an
ellipsis, painted dim so the actual name stands out:

    vlkia5wk0svsikwv50554mh06iayg2m2-source.drv
 -> vlkia5wk…-source.drv

This applies everywhere names are painted: listings in every view,
symbolic link targets, parent paths of targets, and --absolute
paths. The matcher requires the exact hash length and alphabet
(which has no e, o, t, or u), so ordinary file names are never
false-positively shortened.

Christina Sørensen 0864331165 fix: adapt Windows git2 path handling and refresh --help powertest 
- git2 0.21 made StatusEntry::path fallible for non-UTF-8 paths;
  match on Ok in the non-unix branch (unix uses path_bytes and is
  unaffected)
- regenerate the --help powertest snapshot to include the new
  --code and --loc flags

Christina Sørensen a0c4117f1d build(deps): bump plist 1.8.0 -> 1.10.0 
Pulls quick-xml 0.41, fixing RUSTSEC-2026-0194 (quadratic run time
checking start tags for duplicate attributes) and RUSTSEC-2026-0195
(unbounded namespace-declaration allocation in NsReader).

cargo deny check advisories is clean after this and the git2 bump.

Christina Sørensen 6f26fa0993 build(deps): bump git2 0.20 -> 0.21 
Fixes RUSTSEC-2026-0183 (potential UB in Remote::list) and
RUSTSEC-2026-0184 (null-pointer Signatures from buffer-created
BlameHunks); eza uses neither API, but the advisories gate the
security_audit job. Adapts to Reference::shorthand returning a
Result for non-UTF-8 branch names in 0.21. Also drops the now
unused icu/url transitive tree from the lockfile.

Christina Sørensen ac5830daac build: fix yamlfmt exclude pattern in treefmt.nix 
treefmt v2 globs don't match the './' prefix, so the powertest.yaml
exclude never applied and yamlfmt kept reflowing the file in CI.

- remove redundant #[must_use] on Report::languages (double_must_use)
- use is_multiple_of in the share-bar renderer (manual_is_multiple_of)
- drop a pre-existing needless double-borrow in a view.rs test
- reformat the powertest.yaml comment into yamlfmt's fixed-point form
  (verified stable across repeated yamlfmt runs)

Christina Sørensen 4a7bfa58fc feat: add lines-of-code counting and summary 
Introduces a built-in lines-of-code (LOC) counter to `eza` that supports
over 50 programming languages.

- Adds the `--code` flag to provide a project-wide summary of code,
  comments, and blanks by language.
- Adds the `--loc` flag to include lines-of-code and language columns in
  the long view.
- Provides support for multiple display modes (`lines`, `percent`,
  `both`) for both flags.
- Includes comment-aware counting, respecting language-specific comment
  syntax while ignoring string literals.
- Updates completions for fish, nushell, powershell, and zsh to include
  the new flags.

Sebastian Correa 247fb8ed07 docs(install): Update Fedora install instructions 
The Fedora package is now available in the official repositories, so
users can install directly from there.

Christina Sørensen b2eb0d8daf feat(options): use version string from file for --version flag 
Replaces `clap::crate_version!()` with `include_str!(concat!(env!
("OUT_DIR"), "/version_string.txt"))` for the `--version` flag. This
ensures that the version string, which includes build metadata like Git
hash and build date, is properly displayed when `eza --version` is run,
maintaining feature parity with previous behavior.
