    Reverse Engineering Engine preview

Built on REA, published as heaven-hm/rea-engine. This is a development preview, not a complete arbitrary-program reconstruction engine.

    Measured results

    • LTRData managed software utility: 5/5 declared suites with identical captured terminal bytes.
    • Managed TicTacToe game: 19,683/19,683 CheckGameStatus board states and 6/6 actual Form.DrawToBitmap PNG pairs match exactly on macOS ARM Mono/X11.
    • Original and reconstructed executables differ. Whole-game behavior, universal equivalence, and native Windows UI equivalence remain unverified.
    • Focused autonomy regression checks: 37 passed, 2 skipped; type/lint and architecture guards passed.

Sources, actual game executables, replicas, screenshots, canonical execution captures, checksums, and limitations are in benchmarks/ and docs/verification/rea-engine/.

    Optional offline static tool distribution

The attached Ghidra 12.1.2 archive is the unmodified official NSA distribution, including its license files.
    SHA-256: b62e81a0390618466c019c60d8c2f796ced2509c4c1aea4a37644a77272cf99d
    Size: 572803866 bytes.
A compatible JDK and platform dependencies are required. Existing healthy installations are reused.

ILSpy and the benchmark ARM64 X11 libgdiplus library are included in repository third_party/ with licenses and provenance. Every listed analysis tool is not bundled, and a comprehensive redistribution audit is not claimed.

    Install and reproduce

Download rea-engine-6.4.0.tgz, verify SHA256.json, then install the local tarball with npm. The renamed package is not published on npm. Node and declared npm dependencies are required.

For the declared macOS ARM64 managed benchmark profile, install compatible .NET 10, ARM Mono, and XQuartz, then from a built source checkout run:

    npm run verify:autonomy:managed
    node scripts/verify-managed-cancellation.mjs

Cancellation regression proves the owned command and captured process terminate after interruption. Installer retry and queued-stop regressions are retained in the evidence directory.

    Review status

OpenQodex ran before publication. Its Codex runs had incomplete changed-range coverage; its Claude reviewer stopped with an error. Reported installer, queued-stop, and nested-cancellation bugs were fixed and exercised. The preview is not represented as having a complete independent code review or redistribution audit.
