The comparison #1073 asks for, in the repository: FPS and 1% lows at render
distances 8, 16 and 32 for Horizon, vanilla 26.3 and vanilla with the common
performance mods, from the clean, all-windowed, idle-machine run already saved
in benchmarks/perf/, with the conditions, the startup/load/memory figures and
links to the full reports, the method and playhorizon.dev/benchmarks.

🤖 Agent: foudretbr's rebase onto main (a1ff75a4a) drops the stray `);` that broke `tests/mod_api_hooks.rs`, and the file-wide import reorder. The hook change is the same 9 files: with no mod loaded, every translucent screen background is still the vanilla gradient. The 10 hook tests and tests.test_stamp_native_hooks pass.
🤖 Agent: merged main so this builds again (its old base still called `mob_to_nbt` without the UUID lookup that #10544 fixed). Burst notes are unchanged: one group per packet kind, each naming the player who spent the most time; the 7 burst and event-timing tests pass on the merged head.
🤖 Agent: README/docs-media only; keeps the Project status block and '### Java parity' table the site and tests read, so playhorizon.dev's parity number is unaffected.
The README's pictures were from mid-October (launcher 0.2.30, the old
menus), so this retakes them and tidies the page around them.
- Pictures: Nightly 2026-11-05 (66f3981) windowed on the Mac mini's M4
Pro (Metal) with seed 8675309: a river valley with a village and a long
view, a cherry-grove sunset, a crimson forest with a piglin, survival
with the HUD, and two players over LAN; the launcher 0.2.47's Home (with
those screenshots in its instance) and Mods pages. WebP, 712 KB in all,
under docs/media/readme/. The five README-only images they replace are
removed; village/nether/underwater.webp stay (the launcher embeds them).
- Text: a short pitch, what works in the current release, a download
table with each platform's file and requirements (Windows x64 and Arm,
macOS Apple Silicon and Intel from 12, Linux glibc), the Microsoft
sign-in requirement, mods and shader packs (Java mods don't run;
modpacks import), hosting, agent control, build from source,
contributing, and Mojang's "NOT AN OFFICIAL MINECRAFT PRODUCT" line.
- Fixed claims: macOS Intel and Windows on Arm are out (not "from the next
Nightly"); the known-issues line points to docs/known-issues.md.
- Two badges instead of seven: the parity and gap badges the tests and
tools/parity_gaps.py keep in sync. "Project status", its gap block and
the "### Java parity: N%" table are unchanged, so the website still
reads its number and #build-from-source/#project-status still resolve.
Builds on #11040 by Web-mc1, who first noticed the launcher pictures were
outdated and retook them.

🤖 Agent: merged #10312 (with main) in. The cache compares the whole Scoreboard twice per frame (displayed_ids and layout) and clones it on every change, so a server ticking a sidebar score every tick rebuilds and clones each frame; still cheaper than the old double sort, and tab_list parity passes on a union holding this head.
🤖 Agent: merged main in: #10328 (merged meanwhile) now caches the layouts of the tags your collect_name_tags keeps, and #10098's new hide_gui argument is passed in your early tab_list::visible check too, so F1 still hides the list on the skip path. Skipping a tag whose entity box (inflated 0.5) is off the frustum matches vanilla, where shouldRender gates the name tag with the entity. 194 selected harnesses run on a union holding this head: tab_list and hud pass, the 8 failures are identical without it.
🤖 Agent: shelf mushroom stands in as brown_mushroom_block (solid, not the walk-through brown mushroom), explorer maps as filled_map; 26.2 refusal from #10477 still in place
The shelf mushroom is a solid shelf players stand and bounce on (ShelfMushroomBlock's shape); the brown
mushroom it stood in as has no collision, so a 26.2 client would fall through what the server stands on and
be pulled back. Its block now shows as brown_mushroom_block, whose collision holds the shelf's; the item stays
brown_mushroom. The new explorer maps are filled maps (MapItem), so they show as filled_map, which draws their
map_id, not as an empty map. v26_2_ids.rs regenerated with --substitutes. TooltipDisplay's writer no longer
allocates a list on every write.
Review follow-up for #10557 (Detimes).

🤖 Agent: tooling only. When more than 20 harnesses newly fail at once, the audit now opens one issue instead of 421, and the open-issue lookup no longer stops at 200.
🤖 Agent: tooling only. ensure_work_dir now returns the folder argparse picks, so the --work-dir=PATH spelling no longer crashes four harnesses on sys.argv.index.
Four harnesses looked the directory up with sys.argv.index('--work-dir'), which raises
ValueError for the --work-dir=PATH spelling this PR keeps. ensure_work_dir now returns the
directory argparse will pick (the last one given) and they use that.

The 2026-11-06 audit tested a main commit that did not compile (mob_to_nbt arity in raids.rs) and opened
421 "Parity regression" issues, one per harness. Above 20 new failures the audit now opens one issue with
the list and the first compiler error, and keeps those harnesses' previous results so the next audit
compares them again. The open-issue lookup no longer stops at 200.

Five command-oracle harnesses looked for a bare `--work-dir` and appended
their default anyway when the caller wrote `--work-dir=PATH`. argparse takes
the last value, so the caller's directory was silently replaced and the run
wrote its scratch output somewhere they did not ask for. They now share the
guard test_boat_leasher_parity.py already used, and tests/test_harness_args.py
pins both spellings.

🤖 Agent: the pre-tick hook swapped each guest's whole state into Game every tick even with no mod loaded; I pushed a guard so `as_guest` runs only when `mod_api::mods()` isn't empty. The fragment passes tests.test_stamp_native_hooks.
🤖 Agent: verify failed because bake_bricolage.py imports fontTools before it reads its arguments, and CI has no fontTools. I pushed a change that checks the arguments first, so the new usage test passes without fontTools installed.
🤖 Agent: #10398 asked that a local build in a folder with a space still builds, so I pushed a fallback for GNU windres when the volume has no 8.3 names: outside CI it warns and builds without the icon instead of failing. With the taskbar-icon commit, `cargo check --target x86_64-pc-windows-gnu` passes on the desktop for horizon-client and horizon-client-input.
🤖 Agent: a failed region already restores its originals, so blocking the server start on any prune error took a server down for one corrupt chunk record. I pushed a change that starts it when no journal is left, with a supervisor test for it. Note that delete mode now writes regions one at a time with fsync, so a large prune takes longer than the old parallel rewrite. 169 horizon-server tests pass on Linux.
🤖 Agent: raids.rs now passes the same `persist.uuid_of` lookup persist.rs gives `mob_to_nbt`, and the four entity_nbt.rs test calls get `|_| None`, so main builds again after #10304 (verify green on this head).
🤖 Agent: translations only; %s placeholders kept and every file parses. The languages you flagged as uncertain (ba_ru, cv_cu, sah_sah...) stay worth a native speaker's look.
🤖 Agent: removes the old pack pages, their two slider kinds and four lang keys in all 87 files; nothing else read option_label_within, checked with clippy -D warnings on the stack over current main.
🤖 Agent: The non-constant texel offset becomes offset / textureSize(level 0) added to the coordinate: right for the base level, but at a sampled lower mip the shift is in base-level texels, not that level's (GL moves by texels of the level read). Fine for Arc's FXAA at level 0; worth a note if a pack hits it with textureLodOffset.
🤖 Agent: CAT_* macros come from biomes::CATEGORIES, so they pick up #10499's CAT_MOUNTAIN 17 and CAT_UNDERGROUND 18 with no second table to keep in sync; your test comparing every macro with constants() covers that.
🤖 Agent: The constant evaluator now refuses a non-finite F32 fold with Overflow, and only GLSL function bodies turn that into a run-time expression, so WGSL input still rejects 1.0/0.0 at compile time. Vendored naga's own 133 lib tests pass with the chain.
🤖 Agent: The integer-sampler helpers texelFetch the texel under the point with the coordinate clamped to the edge, which is what GL's nearest read of an integer texture gives; a bias argument is accepted and ignored, as GL does for these. Stack 3/6, checked with the rest of the chain on current main (clippy -D warnings, horizon-shaders and render tests).
as_guest swaps a player's whole state into Game: running it for every
player every tick with no mod to call cost the server for nothing.

#10398 asked that a local build in a folder with a space still builds: a
volume without 8.3 names gives windres no usable path, so outside CI
such a build warns and goes on without the icon, as before. CI and
every other case still fail without it.

CI has no fontTools: the import failed before main() could print the
usage, so the new test saw a traceback (verify failed).

parity-main: natural_spawn first fails at f6a9444de (#10416), of 182 merges
since 66f3981f5. The spawn start heights it produces differ from vanilla 26.3
by up to tens of blocks (chunk/10 monster: vanilla y 99, Horizon 62), so
players would see mobs spawn at the wrong heights. Reverted until the change
passes the natural_spawn harness.

#10304 gave mob_to_nbt a fifth argument after the raid observation's call to it
was written, and the two merged without a conflict.

names.rs: #10328 landed on main; its NameTagLayouts frame now wraps this
PR's frustum-culled collect_name_tags, both test sets kept.
scoreboard.rs: #10098 added the hide_gui argument to tab_list::visible;
the early visibility check here passes !self.ui.hide_gui too.

The Team review (kacpherek) on #10382: groups filled in arrival order
under a 32 cap hid a late UseItemOn burst behind other players' moves;
count > 1 dropped 69 players sending one 6-9 ms use each; and one slow
event hid the rest of its group. Groups are now one per packet kind (a
bounded set) with the time of their short events only (the slow ones
are noted on their own), and each names the player who spent the most
of it: "213 x UseItemOn under 10 ms each; most from Steve: 140 of
them, 700.0 ms".
