Summary

Fixes #27618

The weaviate-client library performs a PyPI version check on every client initialization by default, causing unnecessary HTTP requests to https://pypi.org/pypi/weaviate-client/json during each vector search operation.

This change adds skip_init_checks=True parameter to weaviate.connect_to_custom() to disable the automatic version check while maintaining proper connection validation through the existing is_ready() check.

Changes:

  • Add skip_init_checks=True to Weaviate client initialization
  • Eliminates PyPI HTTP requests on every search operation
  • Connection health is still validated via is_ready() method
