Tao ChenandAman Sachan 36f4e7cc0b Copilot Chat: support multiple document import (#1675)
### Motivation and Context
<!-- Thank you for your contribution to the semantic-kernel repo!
Please help reviewers and future users, providing the following
information:
  1. Why is this change required?
  2. What problem does it solve?
  3. What scenario does it contribute to?
  4. If it fixes an open issue, please link to the issue here.
-->
Copilot Chat currently only supports importing a single document at a
time. Supporting multiple documents will improve user experience.

### Description
<!-- Describe your changes, the overall approach, the underlying design.
These notes will help understanding how your code works. Thanks! -->
1. Add multi-document support in DocumentImportController. Did a little
refactoring too.
2. Create a configurable limit on the number of documents that can be
imported at a time. It's currently set to 10.
3. Enable support in the webapp, both drag&drop and file explorer.
Update the document history item to show multiple files.
4. Update the import document console app to support multi-doc import.

Teresa HoangandShawn Callegari e195f4def9 Copilot Chat: Display usernames in Copilot Chat (#1899)
### Motivation and Context

This PR adds support for fetching user data for each user in a chat
session, allowing us to display usernames instead of GUIDs in user
lists.

### Description
<!-- Describe your changes, the overall approach, the underlying design.
These notes will help understanding how your code works. Thanks! -->

- User data is loaded per conversation for optimization but only fetched
per user.
- Fetched user data is stored and indexed globally, since users can be
part of multiple chats.
- User data is fetched only if the user exists in the same tenant as the
active user due to AAD access restrictions, otherwise, user display name
will be "External Guest".

> Note: right now, external user's names will show up in the chat
history since we save user names as part of the chat message, but this
will be removed in future work:

Mark Wallace c5abac0fd2 Java: ADR to define the folder structure to be used for the Java port (#1547)
### Motivation and Context
Please help reviewers and future users, providing the following
information:
1. Why is this change required? The folder structure used in the Java
port has diverged from that used in .Net. Some of the changes make sense
i.e., are idiomatic Java and others we should review.

### Description
ADR to define the folder structure to be used for the Java port. This
includes a comparison of the current .Net and Java folder structures and
proposal for the Java folder structure we should move towards.

Jean-Sylvain Boige 9532c210bf .Net Notebook: Fixing new skills namespace in memory notebook (#1912)
### Motivation and Context

Please help reviewers and future users, providing the following
information:
  1. Why is this change required?
It's a simple bug fix to account for namespace updates
  3. What problem does it solve?
The memory and embedding notebook still uses the previous skills
namespace and thus breaks
  5. What scenario does it contribute to?
 Notebooks
  7. If it fixes an open issue, please link to the issue here.

Shawn CallegariandGina Triolo 78804077a9 Updating dotnet samples to 17.230704.3 (#1886)
Also included:
 - Removing FileCompression project
   - no longer used
 - Merging GitHubSkill into KernelHttpServer
- rename to GitHubPlugin (...the first of many to receive such
treatment)
- this is where it's used, and it will allow us to instantiate the
github skill without passing the access token as a context variable
(this change not yet implemented).
 - Removing LoadPromptsFromCloud
- we are moving to a "plugin-first" approach - loading plugins, not raw
prompts. This approach is no longer recommended.

Resolves https://github.com/microsoft/semantic-kernel/issues/1876

7c8b239a1b Copilot Chat: Update to newest SK nuget (#1811)
### Motivation and Context

Update CopilotChat sample to the latest SK nuget version, absorbing
breaking changes. **I've done zero testing on this, other than "it
builds", so we'll want to validate it before merging.**
cc: @shawncal

This cleans up some cruft related to skill definitions, though there's
still likely more that can be done for someone more familiar than I am
with this code. I expect we'll be able to clean it up further once the
exception handling changes land, as there's a lot of code dedicated to
checking whether an error has occurred and short-circuiting if one has.
(@SergeyMenshykh, this would be a good one to pay attention to, in
particular around how exceptions propagate out of semantic functions
instead of relying on manual checking of the returned context.)

addressing issue #1387
chunking text should allow use of an external tokenizer

### Description

added pass-through of an token counting function, defaulting to the
existing _token_counter() method
while fixing a type hint bug I got sucked into making a few changes to
clean up the code.

future work would be nice to add chunk overlap functionality similar to
langchain's [TextSplitter](

450f1d3a11 Make MaxTokens nullable (#1367)
### Motivation and Context
<!-- Thank you for your contribution to the semantic-kernel repo!
Please help reviewers and future users, providing the following

Some LLM API's have the "max tokens" parameter as optional (OpenAI,
Azure OpenAI, etc.) and will default to the remaining tokens left in the
models context window. This PR changes the default value of max tokens
from an explicitly defined amount to null. Note that skill specific max
token amounts are unchanged, this PR aims to just change the defaults
for library consumers right now.
Fixes #1362

### Description
<!-- Describe your changes, the overall approach, the underlying design.
These notes will help understanding how your code works. Thanks! -->
Change max tokens to a nullable int type (`int` to `int?`).

d019485568 Python: Update notebooks and add samples for streaming and multiple responses (#1489)
### Motivation and Context
The python notebooks are pinned to 0.2.7.dev0 while the latest pip
package for python is 0.3.1.dev0. This PR updates the notebooks to pull
the 0.3.1.dev0 and adds 2 new notebooks demonstrating new features added
to SK between these versions.

### Description
- All notebooks depend on semantic-kernel==0.3.1.dev0
- Added a notebook demonstrating streaming completion responses
- Added a notebook demonstrating multiple responses per prompt
(including streaming them)

Matthew BolañosandGina Triolo 99d5bd93aa Copilot Chat: Fix header and chat list UI bugs (#1685)
### Motivation and Context
This change is meant to fix some of the UI bugs in Copilot chat. Most of
the changes are localized to just the header and chat list areas of the
application to fix font weights, line heights, spacing, and colors.

- https://github.com/microsoft/semantic-kernel/issues/1683

### Description
This change update many of the hardcoded values in the GriffelStyle
objects to use Fluent UI tokens instead. Additionally, instead of
special values for the brand colors, I added a brand ramp for Semantic
Kernel so that the brand colors correctly flowed through all of the
components.
