a2f9a2c30d MCDwarf: Refactor line table handling into a single data structure
This replaces several "compile unit ID -> thing" mappings in favor of
one mapping from CUID to the whole line table structure (files,
directories, and lines).

This is another step along the way to refactoring out reusable
components of line table handling for use when generating debug_line.dwo
for fission type units.

Also, might be a good basis to fold some of this handling down into
MCStreamers to avoid the special case of "One line table when doing asm
printing, line table per CU otherwise" by building it into the different
MCStreamer implementations.

16300ca843 MCDwarf: Invert the Section+CU->LineEntries mapping so the CU is the primary dimension
This makes the mapping consistent with other CU->X mappings in the
MCContext, helping pave the way to refactor all these values into a
single data structure per CU and thus a single map.

I haven't renamed the data structure as that would make the patch churn
even higher (the MCLineSection name no longer makes sense, as this
structure now contains lines for multiple sections covered by a single
CU, rather than lines for a single section in multiple CUs) and further
refactorings will follow that may remove this type entirely.

For convenience, I also gave the MCLineSection value semantics so we
didn't have to do the lazy construction, manual delete, etc.

(& for those playing at home, refactoring the line printing into a
single data structure will eventually alow that data structure to be
reused to own the debug_line.dwo line table used for type unit file name
resolution)

This commit moves getSLEB128Size() and getULEB128Size() from
MCAsmInfo to LEB128.h and removes some copy-and-paste code.

Besides, this commit also adds some unit tests for the LEB128

0fd23cd6c2 MC: Add support for .cfi_startproc simple
This commit allows LLVM MC to process .cfi_startproc directives when
they are followed by an additional `simple' identifier. This signals to
elide the emission of target specific CFI instructions that would
normally occur initially.

This fixes PR16587.

9c0a05c7af [patch] Adjust behavior of FDE cross-section relocs for targets that don't support abs-differences.
Modern versions of OSX/Darwin's ld (ld64 > 97.17) have an optimisation present that allows the back end to omit relocations (and replace them with an absolute difference) for FDE some text section refs.

This patch allows a backend to opt-in to this behaviour by setting "DwarfFDESymbolsUseAbsDiff". At present, this is only enabled for modern x86 OSX ports.

e15c1079cb Fix a crash that occurs when PWD is invalid.
MCJIT needs to be able to run in hostile environments, even when PWD
is invalid. There's no need to crash MCJIT in this case.

The obvious fix is to simply leave MCContext's CompilationDir empty
when PWD can't be determined. This way, MCJIT clients,
and other clients that link with LLVM don’t need a valid working directory.

If we do want to guarantee valid CompilationDir, that should be done
only for clients of getCompilationDir(). This is as simple as checking
for an empty string.

The only current use of getCompilationDir is EmitGenDwarfInfo, which
won’t conceivably run with an invalid working dir. However, in the
purely hypothetically and untestable case that this happens, the
AT_comp_dir will be omitted from the compilation_unit DIE.

da11df0c22 Call generateCompactUnwindEncodings() right before we need to output the frame information.
There are more than one paths to where the frame information is emitted. Place
the call to generateCompactUnwindEncodings() into the method which outputs the
frame information, thus ensuring that the encoding is there for every path. This
involved threading the MCAsmBackend object through to this method.

This is dead code since PIC16 was removed in 2010. The result was an odd mix,

c1f4a4b264 [MC/DWARF] Support .debug_frame / .debug_line code alignment factors
I've been comparing the object file output of LLVM's integrated
assembler against the external assembler on PowerPC, and one
area where differences still remain are in DWARF sections.

In particular, the GNU assembler generates .debug_frame and
.debug_line sections using a code alignment factor of 4, since
all PowerPC instructions have size 4 and must be aligned to a
multiple of 4. However, current MC code hard-codes a code
alignment factor of 1.

This patch changes this by adding a "minimum instruction alignment"
data element to MCAsmInfo and using this as code alignment factor.

This requires passing a MCContext into MCDwarfLineAddr::Encode
and MCDwarfLineAddr::EncodeAdvanceLoc. Note that one caller,
MCDwarfLineAddr::Write, didn't actually have that information
available. However, it turns out that this routine is in fact
never used in the whole code base, so the patch simply removes
it. If it turns out to be needed again at a later time, it
could be re-added with an updated interface.

4a971705bc Remove the MachineMove class.
It was just a less powerful and more confusing version of
MCCFIInstruction. A side effect is that, since MCCFIInstruction uses
dwarf register numbers, calls to getDwarfRegNum are pushed out, which
should allow further simplifications.

I left the MachineModuleInfo::addFrameMove interface unchanged since
this patch was already fairly big.

3de61b4c01 Debug Info: store the files and directories for each compile unit.
We now emit a line table for each compile unit. To reduce the prologue size
of each line table, the files and directories used by each compile unit are
stored in std::map<unsigned, std::vector< > > instead of std::vector< >.

The prologue for a lto'ed image can be as big as 93K. Duplicating 93K for each
compile unit causes a huge increase of debug info. With this patch, each
prologue will only emit the files required by the compile unit.

75c9b9384f We want the dwarf AT_producer for assembly source files to match clang's
AT_producer. Which includes clang's version information so we can tell
which version of the compiler was used.

This is the first of two steps to allow us to do that. This is the llvm-mc
change to provide a method to set the AT_producer string. The second step,
coming soon to a clang near you, will have the clang driver pass the value
of getClangFullVersion() via an flag when invoking the integrated assembler
on assembly source files.

may not be the headers you'd really like to identify as containing the

Many forward declarations and missing includes were added to a header

489d679271 On ELF, create relocations to the abbreviation and line sections when producing
debug info for assembly files. We were already doing the right thing when
producing debug info for C/C++.

ELF linkers don't know dwarf, so they depend on these relocations to produce
valid dwarf output.

38fdb7d9fc Various crash reporting tools have a problem with the dwarf generated for
assembly source when it generates the TAG_subprogram dwarf debug info for
the labels that have nothing between them as in this bit of assembly source:

% cat ZeroLength.s
_func1:
_func2:
 nop

One solution would be to not emit the subsequent labels with the same address
and use the next label with a different address or the end of the section for
the AT_high_pc value of the TAG_subprogram.

Turns out in llvm-mc it is not possible in all cases to determine of two
symbols have the same value at the point we put out the TAG_subprogram dwarf
debug info.

So we will have llvm-mc instead of putting out TAG_subprogram's put out
DW_TAG_label's. And the DW_TAG_label does not have a AT_high_pc value which
avoids the problem.

This commit is only the functional change to make the diffs clear as to what is
really being changed. The next commit will be to clean up the names of such
things like MCGenDwarfSubprogramEntry to something like MCGenDwarfLabelEntry.

5fbe5e783e Some autoconf tests use module level inline asm to test compiler's handling of
.cfi_startproc. e.g. libffi:

 $ cat confopt.c
asm (".cfi_startproc\n\t.cfi_endproc");

int main () { return 0; }

Teach MC / dwarf emission to handle these cfi directives which essentially
create an empty frame.

debd7e4e8b Simplify the handling of pcrel relocations on ELF. Now we do the right thing

This also make getExprForFDESymbol on ELF equal to the one on MachO, and it
can be made non-virtual.
