Reverse Engineering Atlas
A curated map of reverse-engineering projects, tools and agent workflows. Find existing work before starting your own: game decompilations and recompilations, application reimplementations, Android and JavaScript analysis, protocols, firmware and supporting tools.
341 catalog entries · 335 GitHub repositories · 10 skill workflows · 5 README languages
Independent and tool-agnostic. This is not an official directory for REA or any other upstream project. Inclusion is not an endorsement or a claim that a project is complete, safe or licensed for your use.

Start here
- Find an existing implementation: Browse games by platform, desktop apps / Electron, protocols / hardware, or firmware / drivers.
- Choose an analysis workflow: Use the ten-skill map for Android, JavaScript, native binaries, CTF and clean-room reconstruction.
- Choose tools: Browse reverse-engineering tools and security / evaluations. Tools, skills and reconstructed applications serve different purposes.
- Inspect evidence and limitations: Read the detailed technology map for primary sources, license caveats, maintenance status and capability boundaries.
Use Ctrl+F / Cmd+F to search a target name, owner/repository, platform or format such as APK, DEX, Electron, WASM, PS2 or firmware. Then open the upstream README for prerequisites and current status. A missing entry does not mean no project exists.
Skill technology map
Ten skill entry points and related projects, grouped by technique. A technical match does not imply an upstream dependency or use of REA.

Scope, evidence and licenses
What is indexed: public projects and resources spanning static/dynamic analysis, decompilation, recompilation, clean-room reimplementation and preservation. Skills orchestrate work; they are not necessarily analysis engines. Extractors unpack data; they do not recover original source or grant reuse rights.
What was checked: the skill map records a focused documentation review of 45 projects on 2026-11-07. It is not a fresh audit of every older catalog entry. No listed project was installed or executed for this review; performance and safety claims were not independently reproduced.
REA is an optional relationship tag: Yes requires public evidence of REA use; No records a non-REA workflow or independent alternative; Unverified means the relationship has not been established. These labels do not rate project quality or licensing. Benchmark comparison alone is not REA runtime use. The REA subset is an optional view, not the atlas scope.
Authorization and licensing: analyze only targets and data you own or have explicit permission to use. We do not collect cracks, DRM-bypass projects, pirated binaries or unlicensed game assets. Public visibility is not an open-source license; unclear, scoped and commercial dependency licenses must be checked upstream. Some projects require your own legitimately obtained assets.
Catalog versus project rights: this catalog's original contributions are CC0-1.0. Upstream code, screenshots, brands and other third-party material retain their own rights. Archived and early-alpha projects are historical or experimental references, not default recommendations.

Data and contributions
data.json contains catalog entries; descriptions.json contains display summaries. skill-map.json records technique mappings and source evidence. llms.txt provides a compact index for agents.
To add or correct a project, follow CONTRIBUTING.md, edit the source data and run python render.py followed by python validate.py. Do not edit generated READMEs directly. Some ordering uses the stored star snapshot, not live popularity or a quality ranking.
See also / thanks: many REA community entries were cross-checked against AIshihzong/awesome-reverse-engineer-anything.
